To want to shoot my friend

liverbird10 · 15/08/2017 12:46

...for naming his daughter Tinkerbell?

I know I am actually BU as it's none of my business etc. Also shooting people is generally not the way to approach such matters.

I feel so sorry for the poor kid. She's going to go through torture at school. Not to mention thee rest of her life. Imagine a high court judge called Tinkerbell.

'Welcome on board your flight. The pilot today is Tinkerbell'.

MrsMeeseeks · 15/08/2017 13:28

What is this pre-occupation with naffly-named children not being able to become high court judges? Surely only 0.00001% of the population become high court judges, nothing to do with their name.

Tinkerbell can just shorten it to Bella when she is old enough to decide.

Gorgosparta · 15/08/2017 13:28

She is going to hate them when she is older

If Tinkerbell was the pilot she'd probably only fly to the Caribbean.

Your social worker, investigating unusual treatment of your children, is called Tinkerbell.

Lancelottie · 15/08/2017 13:30

My brother's tomcat was called Tinkerbell.
I could swear he used to glare at you if you used his full name.

ExConstance · 15/08/2017 13:31

There was an ex judge called Denzil Lush on radio 4 this morning(head of the court of protection) if someone with that name can be a judge I'm sure young Tinkerbelle will walk it, she will probably call her self "Tinks" and be vair posh by then.

Sparklingbrook · 15/08/2017 13:32

Tinkerbell will be able to do whatever she likes in life, but will have to do it with people commenting and raising eyebrows, and maybe, just maybe not being taken as seriously as she should be due to her silly name.

Sparklingbrook · 15/08/2017 13:33

If you were recruiting would you interview Tinkerbell out of curiosity or fling the CV on the 'no' pile straight away?

user7841794168 · 15/08/2017 13:33

She'd better not be gender fluid as she's going to be getting a lot of fairy dresses for birthday and xmas presents.

user7841794168 · 15/08/2017 13:34

Neither, I'd read the CV and ignore the name.

YouTheCat · 15/08/2017 13:34

Someone would probably assume she was one of Jamie Oliver's kids. Grin

Amatree · 15/08/2017 13:36

Poor little child. So unbelievably selfish and unkind of the parents Sad

Sparklingbrook · 15/08/2017 13:36

The Daily Mail are going to love this by the way. Hmm

Oddish · 15/08/2017 13:36

I know a child called Tinkerbell, she's fine and no bullying, other kids think it's cool!

user7841794168 · 15/08/2017 13:37

I was thinking that, maybe they'll be head hunting her as a future journalist.....

Sparklingbrook · 15/08/2017 13:38

You might get away with it possibly as a child, it's more in adulthood it would be annoying.

Does Dad have a normal name?

liverbird10 · 15/08/2017 13:39

She's currently nicknamed ''Tinky'' by her mum and ''The Tinkster'' by her dad.

liverbird10 · 15/08/2017 13:41

Sparkling Both parents have ''traditional'' names, the dad has an obsession with fictional fairies. (No, I'm not winding you up.)

What a ridiculous name for a real child. Can you imagine if the poor little mite ends up being a six foot tall, rugby playing adult with size 8 feet.

lill72 · 15/08/2017 13:48

my friend just called her baby girl Zizi surname also starts with Z

Eliza9917 · 15/08/2017 13:48

Jesus Christ Sad

PollytheDolly · 15/08/2017 13:49

MeredithLogue · 15/08/2017 13:50
