This is an article in today's mirror that came up in my twitter feed and every single comment is against them so far. I don't agree with forcing your ideals on a child but surely their friends and family would have said something if this is so wrong?

And it's true, what a previous poster said, this is always about boys. Rarely little girls.

ladystarkers · 14/08/2017 15:23

Lots of little boys play with toys that are considered girly. So what? Still a boy. Ds1 likes to have his nails painted, bobbles in when his hair needs cutting, like babies, prams but is also the most boyish boy.

"beating up an oversized Paddington Bear and using a walking stick as a “Nerf gun” to beat up Nikki."

StarCloud sounds delightful Hmm

I cba to read he full article but going from the pictures, what they mean when they say raising him 'gender neutral' really means forcing him into more tranditional 'girlie' clothes and toys etc, I very much doubt any aspect of hat child's life is actually the choice of the child.

The transgendered child at the end said it perfectly. Transgender and gender neutrality are not the same thing.

FurryDogMother · 14/08/2017 15:45

I've just realised I must be a bloke. I have a 'male' name (nickname), my Dad made me a trolley to push and carry bricks around in as my first toy, and then gave me a submarine for the bath when I had my adenoids out. He also gave me a train set for my 6th birthday.

Not sure how to tell my husband about this.

StickThatInYourPipe · 14/08/2017 15:52

Furry omg! Do you not fit into every harmful stereotype of a woman? I'm afraid you are actually gender neutral, remember to remove your female status on the way out. Please and thank you

ZerbaPadnaTigre · 14/08/2017 15:52

These articles are almost always a boy playing/wearing girls things.

Tomboys are more socially accepted than boys who're into 'girl stuff'. If you look at articles about teenagers, there are a lot more girls, usually because by their teenage years, they've expressed an attraction towards women. No coincidence that lots of the trans kid stories, particularly the American ones, involve very conservative, religious families.

Ktown · 14/08/2017 15:52

They are actually raising their kid in a normal way and are biologically male and female anyway so you can dress up the situation as you like, but it is tediously conservative and pedestrian.
