Neighbours security guard parking accross my drive and not moving when asked AIBU

OK so it's a parking thread. We live in a street which is residents only parking for which we all pay a lot. My NDN has some filming due to take place next week for which they have suspended all our parking. Annoying but we have had plenty of notice. Today they are setting up and have a security guard who has parked across my drive all day. It hasn't been a problem so I left it but I'm expecting a visitor later this afternoon so I asked him to move and pointed out that whilst it hadn't been a problem, he shouldn't park across a dropped kerb. He rolled his eyes at me and said he wasn't aware he was parked on a double yellow and he isn't budging. Neighbours are, of course, away as they don't want to be inconvenienced by the racket of the filming so I can't ask them to deal with it.

More of a WWYD that an AIBU?

This all sounds horrible, I'm glad it's not me because I would be extremely annoyed. If i was asked to move things out of my window I'd be tempted not to, just to watch them trying to work around it.

OP your neighbour sounds like a real money grabbing fucker.

Thanks everyone for all the support. I'm waiting for a call back. From the location manager. Things are much quieter this morning just a few set dressers around.

I would keep on at your contact at the council if no joy. They're the ones handing out permission to film. The location manager has to keep them happy.

Sounds a nightmare. I can't believe they took all parking permission and allowed external night time shoots without your consent.

if you have any metallica albums and large speakers, you should be aware that teh cost of delaying or ruining filming by even five minutes will be substantial enough to get the production team doing whatever you ask. I'd start cranking up the stereo now.

(flamingoes in the front garden are easily removed in post, but Enter Sandman is much harder)

Any bug sports events so you can drape a St.George's flag out of the window?

Also recommend blasting out 'Don't' by Dinosaur Jr. It's an oldie but a very persistent screamo song. It goes on for about 7 minutes too, so you've time to put the kettle on and make a cuppa.

I think I should get the mumsnet choir to come along and do some Metallica karaoke - free gin for all singers who arrive in possession of a flamingo or a shark

You do need penguin bollards.

Are yo, or you dh, a bit Handy? If so, you could automate them and then they could slyly creep into shot.....

Ooh, I do like a bit of Metallica and I have a blow up shark. I'll be round in an hour. ....
