Toddzilla Thread 2 - No Toddlers at the hen do please!

Second thread set up as demanded by the Mumsnet hen do menagerie :)

Original thread here:
www.mumsnet.com/Talk/am_i_being_unreasonable/2998359-AIBU-You-dont-bring-a-toddler-to-a-hen-do?

Quick summary:
Organising friend's hen do. All booked and paid for, sorted. Two weeks prior a friend attending, hereby known as Demanding Woman, tells me she will be bringing her toddler and DP along as toddler has tantrums that DP can't handle and won't sleep without her there. She will also require a private room now in the converted barn we are staying in, despite everyone agreeing to share etc.

A whatsapp exchange ensues with myself declaring that no this will no be happening and Demanding Woman getting very shirty. Demanding Woman takes it to bride who also shuts it down. So far Demanding Woman is still attending hen do in less than two weeks but is now trying to take control of hen do in terms of games/food/drink etc.

We now have a whole minibus of Mumsnetters, Toddlers, Toddler-eating-dogs, Elephants, hamsters, moody teenagers all planning to attend with boxes of popcorn to take over barn and avidly watch my first meeting with Demanding Woman which I'm definitely not completely and utterly dreading

I'm not sure I will have any further updates for a bit but I promise if there are any further mad details to be had, you will be the first to know.

As you were, Mumsnetters.

I'm in shock. Been following this thread from the beginning and figured nobody could be that brass necked, could they? Unbelievable. ShockShockShock

Toddlers4HenDos · 19/08/2017 20:33

Well I don't know what all the fuss is about.

Mummy to me to a Hen Do recently and it was pants. Grin

notanotherNC · 19/08/2017 20:38

WTAF. I am fuming on yours and the bride's behalf. Just total madness. Who does this?!?

GrannyD57 · 19/08/2017 20:40

Presumably she went through the barn whilst you were all at dinner elsewhere and picked the best room with no regard for the obvious signs that someone, in this case the bride, was already ensconced. I am really struggling to understand how a friend/human being/amoeba would not realise her behaviour was so WRONG. Hope the fun is continuing

SnugglySnerd · 19/08/2017 20:42

No way!!! Thanks for update. Unbelievable! The bride sounds awesome. Pleased she is enjoying herself.

Superheroessidekick · 19/08/2017 20:46

Oh my fucking god! This thread has been amazing!! So glad it didn't ruin things for the bride. Have a great weekend!

Allthebestnamesareused · 19/08/2017 20:51

Holy shit!!!!!

Can you start a wedding thread!!!?

IHateMorningSickness · 19/08/2017 21:04

Big hugs to Rainatnight x x x x

perper · 19/08/2017 21:14

I really, really want to know how she justified it. What was said? Surely she gave some explanation as to why she brought them after clearly being told not to? She must have said somethinggggg surely?! OP please give us the details!

fourfuckssake4 · 19/08/2017 21:37

You got to let us know if dw has the brass neck to attend the wedding witn her snowflake child

Wizzywoodoodah · 19/08/2017 21:40

OP you are a legend for your updates, thank you, DH and I have been glued to this thread for weeks. Flowers
DW is a total twat, her poor DH, I wonder if Todzilla will grow up with the same sense of entitlement?
Glad this all happened before the wedding though, she would have shit all over the day given the chance.

ohfourfoxache · 19/08/2017 21:43

What the actual fuck? Shock

I simply cannot believe the audacity of that woman. I take it that her wedding invitation has been rescinded?

ChasedByBees · 19/08/2017 21:48

Has de bee told explicitly she's not invited to the wedding?

Scrumptiousbears · 19/08/2017 21:52

I have no words.

WhatwouldOliviaPopedo · 19/08/2017 22:06

Shock Please, please, please can you update from the wedding, OP! Because now we know that Demanding Woman is batshit crazy enough to turn up anywhere she's not wanted, she's bound to make sure she's front and centre on the day.

MyPatronusIsAUnicorn · 19/08/2017 22:18

Shitting hell that is THE best update ever!!

This belongs in the Brass Necked Hall of Fame (MNHQ, we need one of them).

Starlighter · 19/08/2017 22:20

What the hell?! Demanding woman is absolutely frickin nuts!!

After repeatedly trying to be ruin her hen do, I hope the bride is rescinding her wedding invitation! Unbelievable!

drspouse · 19/08/2017 22:23

What was the actual point, as she didn't participate in anything, not even the dinner (which she could maybe have come to if she'd sent her DP and toddler back to the barn)?

bangingmyheadoffabrickwall · 19/08/2017 22:25

That's brilliant! I never imagined THAT would happen.

Is it just me or does anyone else feel a tad bit sorry for DW's DP? It seemed he was led up the garden path and thought he was having a lovely weekend away at something 'slightly different' maybe(?!) I can't imagine any bloke happily agreeing to go on a Hen Weekend with toddler in tow!

emmyrose2000 · 19/08/2017 22:46

Wasn't there husband supposed to be playing golf this weekend, hence the need for the child to accompany her nutbar mother? Or am I getting my crazy hen do guests mixed up?!

Where did batshit woman and her family end up sleeping? I hope they didn't stay in the bride's room!

fairgame84 · 19/08/2017 22:47

I think that was the baby in the tent hen do emmy

Jg1 · 19/08/2017 22:54

emmyrose2000 RTWT

3luckystars · 19/08/2017 23:07

She is off the scale.

I hope her dh has some support, he must have been going down through the ground with embarrassment.

How would she even begin to explain this story to anyone. Their jaws would hit the floor. Mad.

Thanks for the update!

Polly85 · 19/08/2017 23:19

I would give my left tit (slightly droopier one) to be a fly on the wall when she doesn't get her way! Grin

HurtyTeeth · 19/08/2017 23:22

Grin This is aaaalll your fault, where. Aaaallll your fault. Grin
