Second thread set up as demanded by the Mumsnet hen do menagerie :)

Original thread here:
www.mumsnet.com/Talk/am_i_being_unreasonable/2998359-AIBU-You-dont-bring-a-toddler-to-a-hen-do?

Quick summary:
Organising friend's hen do. All booked and paid for, sorted. Two weeks prior a friend attending, hereby known as Demanding Woman, tells me she will be bringing her toddler and DP along as toddler has tantrums that DP can't handle and won't sleep without her there. She will also require a private room now in the converted barn we are staying in, despite everyone agreeing to share etc.

A whatsapp exchange ensues with myself declaring that no this will no be happening and Demanding Woman getting very shirty. Demanding Woman takes it to bride who also shuts it down. So far Demanding Woman is still attending hen do in less than two weeks but is now trying to take control of hen do in terms of games/food/drink etc.

We now have a whole minibus of Mumsnetters, Toddlers, Toddler-eating-dogs, Elephants, hamsters, moody teenagers all planning to attend with boxes of popcorn to take over barn and avidly watch my first meeting with Demanding Woman which I'm definitely not completely and utterly dreading

I'm not sure I will have any further updates for a bit but I promise if there are any further mad details to be had, you will be the first to know.

As you were, Mumsnetters.

She stole the Bride's room. What a fucker.

CotswoldStrife · 19/08/2017 17:38

Oh my word, I am hoping this isn't true because I just can't imagine someone being so self-centred!

GinIsIn · 19/08/2017 17:39

StillStayingClassySanDiego · 19/08/2017 17:46

I'm sure someone said she's bound to try it on and bring them.

What a bellend she is Grin, bet she'll turn up to the wedding too.

whyhastherumgone · 19/08/2017 17:48

I wish it weren't too true too! Poor bride.

And yes they are aware of the thread - there was loads of drunken shouting as everyone tried to dictate what i shouldn't put in the update.

I genuinely think she must have some issues it's not normally behaviour at all.

Heading off now and hopefully this will be the end of it. Enjoy your weekend everyone

Salva · 19/08/2017 18:12

Amazing update Smile

acatcalledjohn · 19/08/2017 18:15

Holy fuck Shock

Talk about a fabricated emergency in order to sneak DP and DS down. Because let's be honest, it was planned.

You've got to feel sorry for her DP. Poor guy probably didn't have a clue re: the batshittery of his DP.

I'd agree this isn't normal behaviour. There's got to be some level of MH/personality disorder involved here.

StaplesCorner · 19/08/2017 18:18

I am so glad the bride is ok about all this as that allows me to say THIS IS FAB! Best hen do ever.

StaplesCorner · 19/08/2017 18:18

(I feel like I am there)

Ezzie29 · 19/08/2017 18:19

I'm cringing for the DP if he genuinely thought it was all OK, I'd be mortified in his shoes!

knitonepurlonedroponedrinkone · 19/08/2017 18:24

Wowser, that was totally worth the fortnight's wait!

Bloody awful for the bride though - my hen got disrupted (nowhere near this scale though!) and although I'm mostly well over it now I do occasionally feel sad that I will never get the hen do I was supposed to have. Hopefully this won't spoil her weekend and it will be something to laugh about.

That "friend" can f*ck right off though, what planet is she on?! Shock

Cagliostro · 19/08/2017 18:24

NO WAY 😱😱😱

IHateMorningSickness · 19/08/2017 18:28

What. The. Fuck. Is. Wrong. With. People??!!!!!!

MadamePomfrey · 19/08/2017 18:34

The bride told her no way and she still tried it and she still tried to blame you??? ShockShockShock do you think this could be the original Gluezilla?? Or may she had a neighbor with a house in Mexico??? I feel some one this cheeky must have made it onto mumsnet before Grin

grannytomine · 19/08/2017 18:36

I feel sorry for DWs husband. He must be fuming at being made such a fool of. I know it must have been awful for you all but at least you can have a laugh now. Imagine spending your life with her!!!!

TipTop333 · 19/08/2017 18:36

Fuuuuuuuuuuucking hell

Aeroflotgirl · 19/08/2017 18:36

Oh my goodness the woman is crazy. Her poor DP, he's probably under the thumb. It's safe to say bridge and her are probably not friends anymore. I woukd have called the Police if I were the bride.

MsHooliesCardigan · 19/08/2017 18:37

My cryogenically frozen Nan will be there soon. Is it OK if she brings her late husband's brain? It won't take up much room - it just needs to be plugged in somewhere.
