Aibu not to split holiday bill 50/50

Hi, I'm new to this so please bear with me....

DP has 2DS and we are going on our first holiday all together, usually when it's just the 2 of us we split costs and expenses 50/50. Aibu not to do this when there are 4 of us (DS 12 & 14).

DP earns more than me but I'm happy to put in a bit extra but not 50/50 - what would be fair?

Thanks

So, the OP asks a question, people give their time to offer opinions, and she buggers off for a day without responding?

it can be 1/4 or 1/2 as long as there are willing parties, but it becomes a precedent/reference point once you start on either.

If you are not a willing party, then insist 1/4.. it will define the rest of your relationship with DP.

Just get him to pay for it all - problem solved!

fuckwitery · 09/08/2017 08:58

You definitely shouldn't be paying for his DS. I'd hope for something like DP paying for holiday and me paying for a few nice meals out. Bit more casual. Bit less business like.

'2 children = 1 adult'... ...said no-one ever who knows what wolves teen DS's are in the food department Grin

cherryontopp · 09/08/2017 09:26

If this was me, I would only pay my share of the bill each meal time...however I would buy the them a treat here and there (maybe a t shirt or whatever teenagers want) whilst on holiday. You've chosen to go out with someone with children and they come with him. Your not responsible in anyway or should not feel obligated to buy them treats but me personally I would now and again.

2 children =1 adult Grin Grin Grin

Not when said children are 12 and 14. As far as food intake goes the equation is probably more like 2 children = 6 adults.

I well remember my 12/13 year old calmly piling 6 weetabix into a bowl for breakfast.
