There is no hiding from the improvement in his numbers since making threats to NK.
There's no denying that his (still abysmal, mind) approval has gone up very recently. The NK threats may well be a contributing factor, though there does tend to be a bit of a delay in how events factor into polls simply due to methodology and publishing dates, so I'm cautious in terms of attributing changes in polls too close to the actual event.
Having said that, people do, sadly, tend towards jingoistic flag-waiving in the face of any sort of conflict. The US, as you rightly point out, is by no means alone in this respect. It's quite scary, really, to imagine that literally millions of people might be mindlessly cheering on the nuclear apocalypse. Morons!
