CFN Thread #9 (Better call Planning)

WhatIsThisWatt · 02/08/2017 18:24

Okay so I wasn't going to post until I'd had some kind of resolution. However, planning called today to ask if they could access my garden on Friday as they need to do some "further investigation" and have another planning official who will be there to oversee it??

They wouldn't tell me over the phone what it was about (it wasn't Nice Planning Lady, it was someone I hadn't spoken with before)

Thanks pp for the thread title - which coincidentally was very apt!

No sign of CFN/ builders etc.

There's now a sign up saying
NO ENTRY IN TO PRIVATE GARDEN
CONTACT SOLICITORS NAME if you require further information.

I'm really pleased. I'm never convinced that justice is going to win out over injustice. I'm glad it did for you.

mummytime · 04/08/2017 14:22

CFN will have to pay (and costs for surveys etc.) and may even have a fine. I also doubt as its a listed property they will be able to use their own "dodgy" builders, but a professional. These p[eople can be helpful: www.lpoc.co.uk/

Slimthistime · 04/08/2017 14:22

"I DO NOT KNOW WHETHER CFN ARE AWARE/ PAYING FOR THIS TO BE DONE! "

As far as I know - but I'm not a planning expert - English Heritage etc are allowed to do the work and invoice for it. They will work out some kind of plan if CFN can't pay up front. It might depend on the freehold - of course I understand that you don't want to share details of that - but if they can't get hold of CFN I think they are allowed to do it that way.

it is very good news but once again I'm sorry you had to go through all this and I admire your fortitude!

Fantastic update! Now we all have to wait until Monday for the next update... There's always the safe opening threat to keep me occupied until then!

SteppingOnToes · 04/08/2017 14:23

A day of brilliant updates - first the parking thread and now this! I wonder which will be the third... I do hope it's Workzilla or Shagzilla...

MyOtherProfile · 04/08/2017 14:23

Yes definitely Bill Nighy. He can do that chewing a gnat expression he does so well.

diddl · 04/08/2017 14:24

Upwards of £10,000-hahahahaha!

Neighbours will be wishing that they still ahd the window & bricks.

Wonder if planning will offer to sell back what they have taken awayGrin

WhatIsThisWatt · 04/08/2017 14:24

I know that CFN will have to pay for it I just wasn't sure whether the planning dept could just go ahead with the work regardless? Then invoice? I hope they can and do!

Did they say what would happen if CFN can't afford it? Does the work still get done?

floridadreaming · 04/08/2017 14:26

Won't they (CFN) need your permission and presumably pay for the privilege of accessing your private property to fix the mess??

Doublethesarcasm · 04/08/2017 14:28

long time lurker, cancel the cheque, maui etc
Excellent result. Have they mentioned where you stand as you've been inconvenienced and will be further?

OnlyAmy · 04/08/2017 14:29

You have handled this so well since the beginning. I would have been off my chain by now and blown up at everyone. Looking forward to Thread #10 and beyond!

MineKraftCheese · 04/08/2017 14:30

I've tried my best to stay up to date with these threads but I missed the bit about the large brick that the planners just took away - where did that come from?

Yesbutnobutmaybe · 04/08/2017 14:31

Wooohoooo!!!

SchadenfreudePersonified · 04/08/2017 14:32

It will go no further Vango

WhatIsThisWatt · 04/08/2017 14:33

north it was originally left by the builders, it's been there the whole time, I can only presume because it was too heavy to lift. It's a piece of the original brickwork (one of the only pieces they managed not to smash to pieces Sad )

Ciaovenora · 04/08/2017 14:33

I would have assumed (planning) have to give the CFN the opportunity to put this right before they decide to do the job themselves.

Regardless, it sounds like this is going to be dealt with to your satisfaction very quickly. Great stuff Watty.

AlltheGinJoints · 04/08/2017 14:33

Whoop whoop! Wow Wattyy you are wonderful!

WhatIsThisWatt · 04/08/2017 14:33
