Okay so I wasn't going to post until I'd had some kind of resolution. However, planning called today to ask if they could access my garden on Friday as they need to do some "further investigation" and have another planning official who will be there to oversee it??

They wouldn't tell me over the phone what it was about (it wasn't Nice Planning Lady, it was someone I hadn't spoken with before)

Thanks pp for the thread title - which coincidentally was very apt!

No sign of CFN/ builders etc.

There's now a sign up saying
NO ENTRY IN TO PRIVATE GARDEN
CONTACT SOLICITORS NAME if you require further information.

How long have they been there??

MintToBee · 04/08/2017 13:52

BananaSandwichesEveryDay
They were already here when we moved in. Six bushes! Plus three Loganberry, an Apple tree and a Pear tree .
If you get yourself up to Scotland in the next few days, you'd be more than welcome to pick the rest before the birds finish them off!!!

I must be mad - I am in the kitchen making a vat of soup , stirring, then running back to look on here!
scary - easy to make your own- I do all mine , so it must be! I do like a bit of apricot jam too :)

ilikefastcars · 04/08/2017 13:53

How did they get the big brick mover thing into the garden? I'm visualising the garden surrounded by flats with only access through wattys flat! ?
So many questions!

readyforno2 · 04/08/2017 13:54

Another thread?! I'm gonna have to start reading again!

MrsHandles · 04/08/2017 13:54

Ohmygod ohmygod ohmygod, they're here! DH has just looked at me like I'm bonkers, then simply said, "Mumsnet again?" Grin

I don't like to reveal too much about myself, but if there's even the remotest possibility of inclusion in the chronicles of Vlad and Vanka, then I'm prepared to admit that my nearest airport is MCR @SchadenfreudePersonified Grin

InvisableLobstee · 04/08/2017 13:57

Just popping in to say I had a very nice Apple and blackcurrent cake from Co-op the other day, if you want a change from scones, it was filled with blackcurrent jam and we had it with creme fraiche.

Lweji · 04/08/2017 13:57

Rugratwrangler · 04/08/2017 14:05

I'm oddly proud of myself for causing people to eat cheese toasties. (If someone further up mentioned them, sorry, I didn't see it :P )

Nanasueathome · 04/08/2017 14:05

I can't believe no-one has mentioned the love triangle potential between nndn spangran and the smartly dressed older gentleman.

Northend77 · 04/08/2017 14:08

ahhh memories DartmoorDoughnut of being wedged in like a sardine, hoping the damn thing doesn't collapse whilst being deafened by the jeers from many wannabe refs!!!!

Cromwell1536 · 04/08/2017 14:10

Scaryteacher: I'm from Devon and the Cornish don't deserve cream teas, as they don't know how to eat them. Plain scone (never with fruit) at room temperature, then clotted cream (no butter), then jam. Even my Cornish parents, and grandparents before them, came round to this way of doing it once they'd crossed the Tamar. They still retain the wartime habit of putting clotted cream on bread though - was butter rationed and cream not? Dunno.

You can have butter on a fruit scone, again at room temperature. Warm scones are an abomination. Unless they're cheese, and then no butter. Butter can go on a room temperature cheese scone though.

THEY HAVE TAKEN THE MASSIVE BRICK AWAY

INSIDE A PLASTIC WRAP THING

ON A MINI TRAILER

Suited gentleman was very nice & professional. He asked me to go through the whole story again. He had a folder detailing everything including the pictures I had sent over, I had to confirm everything and answer LOADS of questions. He then went away to speak to the neighbours and have a look in the other gardens. I haven't spoken with NNDN yet but I will find out what he said.

He was furious. I could almost feel the rage. He kept peering through the doors hoping CFN would come back. He advised me to contact my solicitor etc which I have already done.

He said this was one of the worst cases he'd seen in his 20 odd years and I'd done the right thing reporting them Grin

He is going to provide me with an update on Monday morning as to when works will be commencing to reinstate the wall/ window back to its original state. I DO NOT KNOW WHETHER CFN ARE AWARE/ PAYING FOR THIS TO BE DONE!

I presume they must be???

He couldn't tell me that, but they are obviously going to need access to my flat so they are keeping me in the loop as much as possible.

He indicated that the cost would be upwards of £10,000 and noted something down about the brickwork which I didn't quite catch (sorry folks!!)

So: are they going ahead and restoring the building themselves??? Will they invoice CFN?? Are they even allowed to do that?? Or are CFN cooperating with them???? AAARGHHHHH IVE GOT SO MANY QUESTIONS NOW.

I guess this is good news though? They are NOT messing about with this and want it fixed as soon as possible.

Oh and he also very much liked my "no entry, private garden sign" Grin
