Done to death previously but always new members joining!

I am not famous, dont have any celebrity friends. It fascinated by what it must be like to be famous or have famous relatives or friends!

Anyone willing to spill any beans tonight to cheer me up!

elQuintoConyo did you go to a girls school in deepest darkest Somerset?
Dynasty actress' offspring at same school are about all I can claim to fame too.

Mummyoflittledragon · 02/08/2017 21:43

Liz70

I went to university and studied on the same course with Sally Nugent. (BBC news journalist).

MarklahMarklah · 02/08/2017 21:44

I'm not in any way famous but when I was at primary school, one of our dinner ladies had a son who had just started "a little band" with his friends. They went on to be very popular in the late 70's/early 80's, and are still around now (I think).

I also once had a nice chat to Graham Taylor and his wife at a service station. I had no idea who he was at the time.

Brexit means Brexit

May I say, I believe I may be famous for saying this even though I may not actually know what it may mean.

ChopinLisztFinder · 02/08/2017 21:46

I've been on Crimewatch.

PiratePanda · 02/08/2017 21:50

I'm famous in my field.

Which is small.

And weird.

:-D

Mummyoflittledragon · 02/08/2017 21:50

I once saw Victoria Beckham accompanied by David at the airport. She went into Boots, he waited outside and then she headed off to the loos. David was carrying their son as he was very little (Brooklyn I imagine - had to look that one up). No security, just in the regular bit of the airport. No one bothered them. Sure they wouldn't do that these days!

Lobsterquadrille2 · 02/08/2017 21:51

The most famous people I see regularly are at AA meetings and for obvious reasons nobody talks about them.

Alltheprettyseahorses · 02/08/2017 21:55

I've dealt with plenty of famous people in a past job.

That's just an excuse to post though.

What I'd love to know is - who are all you writers? I might have your books!

PercyTuffety · 02/08/2017 22:07

Misaligned and the others who asked, no it's not Mars or Ferraro Rocher. The piece of confectionary is round 😁. But I think they're no longer made by the relatives I've never met.
I've just looked on Wiki and I was a bit rash in saying top ten, I was just repeating what I thought my mum had told me - she'd started researching our family history before she and my dad died. They are in the top 150 richest families, according to Forbes in 2014.
I would like to do Who Do You Think You Are, I've got a whole side of my family I don't know and since my parents died I kind of feel I should do something about finding them. I don't really have much family left on either my mum or dad's side and it would be nice to know I've got other relatives out there - although we must all have relatives we don't know? I kind of know the story from what my mum told me but I would like to research it further but I can't exactly email a billionaire and say 'Hi, you don't know me but we're related'. I don't really know how I'd go about it. For now it's just a cool story I tell my DC when we eat this piece of confectionary.

flickertee · 02/08/2017 22:08

Wagon wheels!!!!

squoosh · 02/08/2017 22:09

Rowntree's Rolos!

derenstar · 02/08/2017 22:12

I used to know someone very well who is now a household name and has been mentioned on here a couple of times. We grew up together, shared a flat and they were part of my wedding party. They're generally considered to be some sort of God on here and elsewhere but what they are like in real life, now, will shock most. Fame did change them, for the worse. I keep quiet about knowing them now, partly because I don't want to burst people's bubbles! This person is very good at coming across as a nice person, but they really are not!

IJustLostTheGame · 02/08/2017 22:13

I'm famous.
I'm very very mega famous.

I'm also shagging Tom Hardy.

I'm so very very terrible famous

Bunglemyjungle · 02/08/2017 22:14

The reason people who have a public name don't want to say who they are is obvious: we are public figures. Even with a name change, if people know we MN it changes things, especially if we are posting on a thread about our own fame.

Icanseewhy · 02/08/2017 22:19

Anyone remember when Brian Cox's wife openly contributed to a thread on here? Ages ago. She seemed genuinely lovely Smile

Zoflorabore · 02/08/2017 22:21

Chocolate digestives!!

MissAlligned · 02/08/2017 22:22

Percy surely you know someone who could sort you out a WDYTYA slot? It sounds really interesting and you get some overworked, underpaid research assistant do all the hard work for you!! Grin

There used to be a Rowntrees Mackintosh factory in the city where I grew up. When the wind was blowing in the right direction the whole city would be filled with the smell of melted chocolate. It was yummy. There were also rumours that if you went on a factory tour you were allowed to eat an much as you wanted off the production line. It was like living in the shadows of Willy Wonka.

MissAlligned · 02/08/2017 22:27

Joseph Rowntree #1 married his late wife's sister! Was acceptable behaviour back then?

MumBod · 02/08/2017 22:28

squoosh that would be telling.

PercyTuffety · 02/08/2017 22:32

Flickertee got it 😁

Misaligned yes maybe I'll look at BBC website and see if they need people for next series - if there is one. I think mostly don't they just do 'famous' people ones these days though?

My mum kept saying she'd write everything down and I always said 'Yes, you should, it's interesting but it's not like you need to do it now, you're hardly going to drop off the earth anytime soon!'. And then she did. She was only 70 and then my dad died a few days after. It was very sad and I never got anything written down. It seems like a bit of a poor boy did good scenario.

PercyTuffety · 02/08/2017 22:33

The Rowntrees factory sounds great! The stuff of childhood dreams. We had a dog food factory near where I went to college, along the River Thames, the stench was awful!

GreeboIsACutePussPuss · 02/08/2017 22:40

Even with a name change, if people know we MN it changes things, especially if we are posting on a thread about our own fame.

If I was famous, like super famous, I would totally have a username that I only used to comment on every thread about myself with really stupid facts no one gives a toss about, but always in a "A friend of a friend works for Greebo and she says Greebo wears unicorn slippers and only put's pink marshmallows in her hot chocolate" and then I would make sure to bring the conversation round to such facts just to see which journalists are lazy and using MN for research. it would amuse me greatly. of course if i was famous I'd probably have a life and hobbies and no time for such stupidity

MissAlligned · 02/08/2017 22:46

Percy I thought you were 'famous' - due to being on the BBC every Monday and in a few films?!

Was your maternal grandmother Agnes?

orangesinpyjamas · 02/08/2017 22:46
