.....shampoo!

That's how exciting my life is Grin

Being a SAHM with 5% social time I find myself getting excited over little things!

Does anyone else get excited over little things or am I just alone in this?

DH and I both hit a new level today when he came back from doing the food shop and I unpacked the baby wipes and commented "Oooh, they've changed the colour packaging and the lid on these haven't they?" (Aldi Mamia Sensitive in case you're interested) and his eyes lit up and replied, "Yes! I noticed that too!"

We're doomed.

BabychamSocialist · 30/07/2017 16:06

I dropped a tin on my toe about 6 weeks ago and finally today the black toenail fell off! I can finally wear sandals again!

What? Is it wrong to be excited by that...?

Queenofthestress · 30/07/2017 16:31

Picking a new pen gets me :D

TwatteryFlowers · 30/07/2017 16:32

The backpacks are ace absurd. They're a bit smaller than I expected but great for a 5 y old and dd loves hers, the one that came today. She's been playing with it, filling and refilling it, for over an hour bless her.

I bought something lovely and quite expensive recently which I'm pleased about. But the shop owner wrapped it in a very generous amount of bubble wrap which is almost as exciting. It's just the right consistency to make loud pops. I'm being very frugal with it and only popping a few at a time Grin

Bizarrely I like putting out my recycling (rubbish less so), and imagining it being taken away. Bonus if I see the bin being upended on the lorry. It's a bit sad though throwing away the first piece of rubbish after that, which didn't make it to the collection. Sad

If I get rid of change cunningly; if something costs £9.23, I'd hand over £10.23. Result, only one coin in the change!

It's always great putting on a pair of shoes for the first time after buying them, even better if I they're trainers and I have to thread the laces.

I like to double my excitement of receiving presents: as well as the joy of opening them, I like to be in the room listening to them being wrapped by my DH. With a sleeping mask on I can't see what they are, but this silly ritual gives me lots of pleasure!

Nice shampoo is an exciting thing, Wilko do a range of fruit ones for 95p, as well as matching conditioners and shower gel, DD(8) and I have been doing mixes so we smell like fruit salads, it started off as a trying to encourage DD to actually wash her own hair (because I can't guess which shampoo/mixture of shampoos she used if i washed it) but it now amuses me way too much.

joangray38 · 30/07/2017 23:13

My new bird feeder arrived today, thrilled until someone pointed out that the birds who I feed are big and may get their heads stuck in. Now looking for a feeder for large birds

RudeDog · 30/07/2017 23:20

I realised my 17 year old oven glove is past it - spent 2 hours looking for a new one....blisss

recklessgran · 31/07/2017 00:18

I get excited about descaling my kettle. That's because I've got a glass kettle and the blinking thing needs descaling every week as you can see a white ring through the glass if not. I love how the water fizzes when you add the descaler and within a few seconds you can see ribbons of scale falling off through the glass.
I need to get a life don't I?

supersop60 · 31/07/2017 09:00

Walking on the Cornish coast, especially when it's a bit wild and windy.

funkynoodle · 31/07/2017 10:14

I get excited when I do a wash and afterwards all the socks pair up again.

Talith · 31/07/2017 10:36

I still get a thrill from a solo supermarket trip. Staring at the bubble bath in particular Ohh... What shall I pick? Push the boat out with Radox? Oooo own brand is peony and chinchilla that sounds nice..

Talith · 31/07/2017 10:38

Also browsing for and buying a pack of pencils online (plain Hb ones) for my eldest. That was a beautifully satisfying hour spent.

MsHarry · 31/07/2017 11:11

I have just been food shopping and after struggling to fit things in cupboards I have gone through my baking cupboard checking dates, throwing out old flour etc, cleaning the cupboard and put it all back in tidy. I just went to open the door to look at it. You know I'm going to have to do al the other cupboards now don't you?

MsHarry · 31/07/2017 11:12

Incidentally, can anyone recommend some plastic storage containers that are cuboid and not cylindrical so I can maximise the use of the space?

This image gives me so much pleasure. Storage goals!

Kpo58 · 31/07/2017 13:01

Oooo own brand is peony and chinchilla that sounds nice..

Grin I like the idea of small furry animal bubblebath.

maggienolia · 31/07/2017 13:33

I got excited cleaning the mould from the bathroom ceiling this morning.
I'll say goodbye now, shall I?

sidesplittinglol · 31/07/2017 14:02

Ooh storage ideas are great. And I'm the same too once you start on one cupboard you HAVE to do the rest

Speaking of those small jars of herbs, I filled up my more decorative container with a recently bought jar and thought that the plastic hinged lid would maybe fit my windscreen washer bottle in the car. The original lid had snapped off and pinged off goodness knows where. I'd had to hold a milk bottle top in place with cling film and an elastic band. The new cap fitted perfectly - it's only a small thing (literally) but it has pleased me enormously.

BabychamSocialist · 31/07/2017 20:35

I get really excited about having a sleep. That's weird, isn't it?

sidesplittinglol · 31/07/2017 20:43

I'd be excited to sleep!

I'm excited about having a shower, washing my hair, wearing clean pj's and sleeping in clean fresh sheets!

Just one problem... got to get the DC's to sleep first!

OP posts:
MsHarry · 31/07/2017 21:02

Fresh sheets on my bed tonight, halfway through a book I'm enjoying and on school holidays! Grin
