.....shampoo!

That's how exciting my life is Grin

Being a SAHM with 5% social time I find myself getting excited over little things!

Does anyone else get excited over little things or am I just alone in this?

I change supermarkets just for the excitement. As Asda is furthest away I quite look forward to going. I am really happy when I get to go somewhere like Ikea. It really is the little things.

metalmum15 · 29/07/2017 17:53

You lot would love my postman, he often leaves several elastic bands on my front garden 😀 I get very excited when amazon or ebay parcels arrive. And books. I love buying a ton of cheap books and reading the back and all the reviews.

SpottedGingham · 29/07/2017 18:00

We mainly shop in Asda. If we go to Tesco for any reason it feels like Christmas! If we have to drive into town (15 miles) and there's all the shops, banks, cafes and people I do get a bit giddy with excitement. Blush

We only have one shop here.

This is the secret of true happiness, finding pleasure in the small, everyday stuff. I keep telling my DD(16) this when she gets down in the dumps and says she's BORED!
Personally I love waking up on a non work day and reaching for my book to spend a leisurely hour reading in bed. Even better if DH is home and brings me tea in a china (tastes better) cup. A very chilled glass of dry white wine, the first sleep in fresh, line dried bed linen, an hours walk over fields on a glorious day with my dog and new make up or perfume.

MsHarry · 29/07/2017 18:06

I get a bit grr at the postman littering with elastic. I must change my way of thinking. Free elastic bands yay!!!

Andrewofgg · 29/07/2017 18:17

Books from Amazon and second-hand books from Abe.

MsHarry · 29/07/2017 18:28

On the subject of Amazon books. I ordered Pride and Prejudice and it arrived today and it's almost A4 in size like text book but it's not, it's the normal text. It says it's an amazon book on the back. Anyone else had this?

doobree · 29/07/2017 18:34

Agree MrsHarry :)

What shampoo did you get sidesplitting? It is a lovely treat to get some nice shampoo. I mainly use watered down eco washing up liquid so nice stuff is very exciting.

Another thing I love is if a parcel arrives and part of the packaging is... tissue paper! Especially if it is coloured! Cue squeals and very careful folding. I use it for Christmas or birthday wrapping (obviously red for valentines) or save it for a craft project that has been going on for about 6 years. Ahh. Happiness

doobree · 29/07/2017 18:36

Apolgies MsHarry nor mrs. oops

sidesplittinglol · 29/07/2017 18:40

Had my hair done recently and they used this and my hair was lush and smelt like heaven. Always think shampoos used at hair dressers are so much better and better smelling than home ones.

I order a lot from Amazon. I love it when a parcel arrives and I can't remember what I've ordered. Feels like I'm unwrapping a present!

MsHarry · 29/07/2017 18:42

Ha no offence taken on the Ms /Mrs front!

doobree · 29/07/2017 18:45

Oh yes side salons have a magic fragrance! Bet that shampoo will be great.

I'm a sucker for anything that smells of melon or coconut. Or white chocolate. Yum

hollygolipo · 29/07/2017 18:45

I have recently been excited by: new labelling on Sainsbury's milk and a delivery of moth killer spray. If there is a sadder fuckwit on this planet I have yet to meet them. Grin

PickledLilly · 29/07/2017 18:55

I got a new mop and bucket recently and was ridiculously excited about it. It's exactly the same as my old one which I inherited from my mother about seven years ago but it broke so I got a SHINY NEW one! Grin

starsorwater · 29/07/2017 19:22

I cleaned the car and got all the dog hair off with sticky tape. I keep going to look at it.

My stash of pre 2008 Pears soap cheers me up. It will last till i am 63 if I use 2 bars a year.

MsHarry · 29/07/2017 19:26

What is different about pre 2008 Pears soap?

MsHarry · 29/07/2017 19:27

Incidentally I had my hair done today and I don't like the smell, it's all fruity and sweet like that old Dewberry stuff The Body Shop sold in the 80s!

starsorwater · 29/07/2017 19:30

It is the old style formula with rosemary oil. It is amber coloured and an odd concave shape from being dried.

topcat2014 · 29/07/2017 19:40

I am the official storer of postage elastic bands in our office.

There is one each day, and they live on my hole punch on the desk. They get taken off when required.

At one stage we were down to three. We have a fat bundle again.

I inherited this duty when I got this job as finance director when the previous person retired.

My colleague looks after the pens..

As we always say - we have to make our own entertainment.

LorLorr2 · 29/07/2017 19:51

I get excited whenever the online food shop comes. I love it every time 😂

sidesplittinglol · 29/07/2017 19:51

Pickled I too get excited over cleaning stuff! Then get even more excited to use it!

Hmm it wasn't that stinky last time. Usually it has an expensive smell, gutted cos I only go every 9 weeks and look forward to not washing my hair for 4 days after foils lol!

PuffinProdr · 29/07/2017 20:11
