So they've buggered off. How rude. What do you plan to do next? Idk if I'd want to allow these oafs back on your land. They sound like cowboys. Perhaps speaking to a solicitor would be useful and you could ask another contractor to do it and charge ndn but this would likely lead to small claims..... and obvious disputes. Also, would any contractor need to use the rubble to reinstate the wall? Ie is it a specific material? What a mess.

And definitely need to inform the council. Also can you report the company to trading standards? How disgusting to modify a listed building.

waitforitfdear · 27/07/2017 14:37

If it was me I would be phoning the planning officer now to explain the situation and get their advice

SapphireStrange · 27/07/2017 14:37

I don't know whether to start clearing up or leave it as evidence

Leave it (and take photos). Bollocks to clearing up after them.

MrsOverTheRoad · 27/07/2017 14:37

Don't worry about the mess. Phone the council and insist someone sorts this out. Immediately.

Ginorchoc · 27/07/2017 14:37

.

Mummyoflittledragon · 27/07/2017 14:38

No leave it as is and write a formal letter to them strictly prohibiting access.

Namechangetempissue · 27/07/2017 14:38

Fuck it, I would contact the council immediately in the light of it being a listed building. I would ask the neighbours to pay for replacement of anything left damaged by the builders ie. plants, bbq etc.

Kickhiminthenuts · 27/07/2017 14:38

No don't clear it up, its not your mess they need to sort it.

What were they thinking?!

Amee1992x · 27/07/2017 14:38

Following.

BaDumShh · 27/07/2017 14:38

Phone everybody - council, planning department, lawyers - RIGHT NOW! Why are you stalling?! These people are not going to say "whoops, sorry bout that - we'll get it tidied for you". You need this all documented officially immediately.

Mummyoflittledragon · 27/07/2017 14:39

A planning officer will be able to visit tomorrow latest.

mickeysminnie · 27/07/2017 14:39

Report to the planning dept. straight away!

IHateUncleJamie · 27/07/2017 14:39

Definitely leave the mess etc exactly where it is for now, and get onto the council. Outrageous!

JumpingJoey · 27/07/2017 14:39

I hope you've phoned planning and English Heritage if it's listed.

nomorebabiesyet · 27/07/2017 14:40

Place marking! Good luck op

Chilver · 27/07/2017 14:40

Definitely do not clear it up; you don't want to make it look better than it is. Phone planning, phone the builders to come and clear it up and wait for the owners to come round and then have a calm discussion (before going mental if they are unreasonable!)

SabrinaSalem · 27/07/2017 14:40

I'm Shock that they thought it was fine to knock a hole in the side of a listed building! Eagerly awaiting further updates

BrightYellowStripes · 27/07/2017 14:40

It's also a safety issue - burglars could exit their doors and come into yours!

Mrbluethecatt · 27/07/2017 14:40

It is a criminal offence to do unauthorized works to a listed building. They would definitely need listed building consent (and potentially planning permission). These are two different things.

I was a planning officer in England on a listing building unauthorized works case which resulted in the owner getting time in prison and a criminal record.

RupertsMum2 · 27/07/2017 14:41

I love the idea of a fish pond. Perhaps one with a giant water fountain so that the neighbors have a nice outlook from their reinstated window.

Dailystuck71 · 27/07/2017 14:41

Place marking.

FilledSoda · 27/07/2017 14:41

the builders sound really shifty

relaxitllbeok · 27/07/2017 14:42

.

SoupDragon · 27/07/2017 14:42

Can you shove all the rubble inthrough the doors?

Mummyoflittledragon · 27/07/2017 14:42

Mrblue Shock. That serious!!
