Parking wars - on my own drive !

I know the rules, diagram is attached. 😉

I'm on half days this week and have just got home to find a car in my driveway. As we are a corner house we have two driveways, big enough for one car each. Parking is really tight around here and permit only too. Opposite us is 8 terraced houses with no allocated parking, so quite often they either park in their garages or in the handful or visitor bays opposite my place but in front of theirs. My front drive is VERY clearly my driveway.

Cheeky Fucker Neighbour (CFN) runs a business from home which involves a lot of clients coming and going from her house throughout the day (pet groomer) and he employs two people to help.

I came home today to find a car in my drive which was not DHs. So I park down the side (pink section) of the house on the road where neighbours park their cars. I go and knock on several doors to find out who it belongs too, turns out it's one of the employees who is staying for a little while longer (P/T). "But I'll only be another hour, so I'll move it then." I reply "No, move it now please as I have to unload my car." Person refuses and I end up leaving telling them to move it within 30 minutes.

That was an hour ago and when I knock on the door there is no answer.

My next door neighbour has just told me that this car is on either my front drive or rear drive each morning ! When he questioned them about it, apparently CFN has said it's OK for them to park there and they have cleared it with us. No they bloody haven't!

Thing is this went on last year but after words it sooner stopped but obviously they are doing it again.

I'm sat here glaring out my front window waiting for the fucker to move his car then we will have words. I would block it in, but the road is only wide enough for one car so would block the road.

To be completely honest given CFN is quite such a CFN I think you really should give us all permission to go to town on their social media. Fucknuggets.

I really need to learn to stop clicking on parking threads. The spike in my blood pressure can't be good for my health

Rubbish, Foxes

The adrenaline rush is invigorating and sends the rich ruby blood coursing through your veins, rejuvenating and enlivening every fibre of your being!

(Or is that just me? Grin )

Please, before you do anything, check online that it is properly taxed and mot-ed. Because if it isn't you can report it to the DVLA. I do this to all bad parkers because there seems to be a correlation round here between poor parking and not paying their tax!

OxfordshireLass · 26/07/2017 23:11

Shameless bookmarking as desperate to know how this ends. Neighbour'S friend did this to me and said they'd 'only be another 30 minutes or so.' Luckily it was a 2 car drive and so I could block them in and then go for a nice walk across the fields and then have a relaxing bath.

blackcherries · 26/07/2017 23:14

Does everyone realise you can 'watch' a thread by clicking on one button rather than posting just to placemark? Then go to 'threads I'm watching' (where you'll also see threads you've posted on). I've seen so many threads fill up with "Placemarking!!!"

SecretNutellaFix · 26/07/2017 23:15

OP- why wait until tomorrow? If you have a strong light, then I'd do the bricks overnight.

Cheeky fuckers indeed.

Gaggleofgirls · 26/07/2017 23:16

Shamelessly placemarking too!
Still not quite understanding the blocking in though as if they're gone by 4am surely CFN won't be inconvenienced at all?? Have I missed something?

UnicornSparkles1 · 26/07/2017 23:19

Just torch the car. There's really no other course of action now.

Cheeky, cheeky fucker.

Alibobbob · 26/07/2017 23:20

I too love a parking thread. Love it when he neighbours -wage- -war- help out when a CF's about.

There are some cheeky ECF (entitled cheeky fuckers) everywhere.... here's a link to another ECF - sorry it's a mail link!

MammaTJ · 26/07/2017 23:21

On the positive side, if CFN has taken CFNE home to avoid confrontation, this is unlikely to happen again.

I would have told DH, if he wanted the obstruction moved to make life easy for CFNE, then he could do it himself. I would also be buying him a spine for his next birthday, or Christmas, whichever comes first!

magicstar1 · 26/07/2017 23:21

Tomorrow? Get over there and bang on there door until she gets it moved...you can't just let it go

Cloeycat · 26/07/2017 23:21

I think the 4am is in case they try to sneak back in the night to move it? As obviously battery is not flat and they are in fact just too cowardly to face OP to move their car.

Alibobbob · 26/07/2017 23:25

Also the neighbour may be keeping a watchful eye on the employees car..... where is the neighbours car parked?

AlphaBites · 26/07/2017 23:25

Cloeycat - that's it. It's been parked there to prevent it from being removed.

I'd be raging Op.

AlphaBites · 26/07/2017 23:26

The neighbours car will be going at 4am, so in 4 and a half hours.

I honestly don't think you'd be causing any issue by ringing non emergency police number for advice, as a minimum.
This person cannot be allowed to get away with it! I can't believe the brass neck of them!

AlphaBites · 26/07/2017 23:28

The car is taxed and MOT'd too Hmm

OP posts:
Goodasgoldilox · 26/07/2017 23:29

I suggest keeping the car there much longer.
You can't make them leave (or stop them parking there again)

But you can keep them there so that they do not have use of the car for some days. They won't be so keen to risk this a second time.

You are not allowed to clamp (this is against the law) but you are allowed to gate/bollard/block them into your drive and padlock/cement this.

tomatopuree · 26/07/2017 23:29

@Doesitgoto11 I totally had that in mind. Dooo do dooo do do...

If it helps any. I'm a student nurse and on my placement are 3 patients whose urine is being collected for 24 hour testing. 5l tubs... 15L of piss. Still not as much piss as CFNE is taking...

rollonthesummer · 26/07/2017 23:30

I would imagine she'll be back at 6am to move it?!

ahhhhhwoof · 26/07/2017 23:31

Placemarking 😬

HashiAsLarry · 26/07/2017 23:34

CFE is more than a cheeky fucker.

childmaintenanceserviceinquiry · 26/07/2017 23:35

how do you know its taxed/MOT'd? No one has tax discs anymore?
