Parking wars - on my own drive !

I know the rules, diagram is attached. 😉

I'm on half days this week and have just got home to find a car in my driveway. As we are a corner house we have two driveways, big enough for one car each. Parking is really tight around here and permit only too. Opposite us is 8 terraced houses with no allocated parking, so quite often they either park in their garages or in the handful or visitor bays opposite my place but in front of theirs. My front drive is VERY clearly my driveway.

Cheeky Fucker Neighbour (CFN) runs a business from home which involves a lot of clients coming and going from her house throughout the day (pet groomer) and he employs two people to help.

I came home today to find a car in my drive which was not DHs. So I park down the side (pink section) of the house on the road where neighbours park their cars. I go and knock on several doors to find out who it belongs too, turns out it's one of the employees who is staying for a little while longer (P/T). "But I'll only be another hour, so I'll move it then." I reply "No, move it now please as I have to unload my car." Person refuses and I end up leaving telling them to move it within 30 minutes.

That was an hour ago and when I knock on the door there is no answer.

My next door neighbour has just told me that this car is on either my front drive or rear drive each morning ! When he questioned them about it, apparently CFN has said it's OK for them to park there and they have cleared it with us. No they bloody haven't!

Thing is this went on last year but after words it sooner stopped but obviously they are doing it again.

I'm sat here glaring out my front window waiting for the fucker to move his car then we will have words. I would block it in, but the road is only wide enough for one car so would block the road.

IS there no way you can push it off your driveway? I get that it'll be blocking the road but then, y'know, it becomes a police thing....

BlessYourCottonSocks · 26/07/2017 22:31

It would have a long scratch all the way down one side by now if it were on my property. Done with a knife.

And if it were still there after dark it would have every one of the windows tanned in. Bloody kids in that neighbourhood, huh?

twatchops · 26/07/2017 22:32

Glitter in air vents is also a worthy suggestion. Could possibly be combined with weetabix....?

nocoolnamesleft · 26/07/2017 22:35

Is CFN back in their house? Because I would suggest ringing their door bell for 5 minutes every 15 minutes until 1 am, then hourly through the night (you could alternate with DH, so you both get a bit of sleep).

GinaFordCortina · 26/07/2017 22:35

Roll it on to some double yellows...

magicstar1 · 26/07/2017 22:38

So do something!!

Fishface77 · 26/07/2017 22:39

Hi
I'm "CFN". The op has 2 parking spaces and I have none. I have to run a business from a terraced house so why shouldn't my employees park there?
You vipers need to mind your own business.

(Place marking fan fiction)

DontMakeMeShushYou · 26/07/2017 22:42

Are the local birds feeling hungry OP? Perhaps you could scatter bird seed and bread for them on your drive.

(Disclaimer: I may have been reading Danny the Champion of the World with DD recently.)

SparkleSoiree · 26/07/2017 22:43

I can't believe there is another one of these threads! Why do people take liberties like this by parking on other's drives? I've never known it before MN!

LouHotel · 26/07/2017 22:44

Go with bird seed. Self entitled Jackass with a world owes them something complex.

I'm currently trying to write a cheeky fucker land theme choon for us to sing every time the gates to cheeky fucker land are opened.

I think it's important as it's happening soooooo often.

Cheeeky fuckers...🎵🎶

lionsleepstonight · 26/07/2017 22:46

Does the next door neighbour have Facebook and or website? Can you leave reviews on both about the parking situation and how they have been so unprofessional?

VeganCow · 26/07/2017 22:47

Update tomorrow please!

STRONGandSTABLE · 26/07/2017 22:48

OP, suggest you private message 10 of us and tell us the name of the business so that we can each leave a message about their rudeness on their FB page. This is one of the rudest things I have ever heard on MN.

lionsleepstonight · 26/07/2017 22:48

Or let the tyres down a bit and roll it off the driveway.

TicketyBoo83 · 26/07/2017 22:48

WHAAAAAAAAAAAAT???? 😡😡

Phone the police and report it abandoned.

LexieLulu · 26/07/2017 22:48

What have you done this evening OP? Have you knocked at your neighbours since? Is his car back?

Are you in work tomorrow? I imagine they will leave when you're in work 😡

Mulberryaddict · 26/07/2017 22:48

Things like this make me livid - no way would I just leave it til they decide to come back. I'd have to let a tyre down so they can't just come along during the night and quietly take it without explanation !

OlennasWimple · 26/07/2017 22:49

Invoice them for parking services received

Windbeneathmybingowings · 26/07/2017 22:49

Could you have a skip delivered tmw in front of it?

scaryclown · 26/07/2017 22:50

Invoice the business

Lweji · 26/07/2017 22:50

Fishface77

You should have put lighthearted. Someone will come along and take you seriously.

@SchadenfreudePersonified They kept their pee. In fact he threw a party and invited all the guests to pee in a selection of bottles in the bathroom.

DH is still gleeful about the fact that they spent ages pouring it in all the vents etc.

AlphaBites · 26/07/2017 22:51

Right so all reasoning has gone out the window.

After bedtime, I happen to see CFN's car come back. I went out and tried to speak to them, they walked off briskly and said "Don't have time at the moment, must dash. But the battery is flat on E's car. It will be sorted tomorrow hopefully." Then they shut the front door and wouldn't answer it again.

CFN's neighbour came over 20 mins later and asked if everything was OK. She had trouble with the clients parking in front of her garage as well etc. She has offered to put her car in the way, as she does shift work and leaves at 4am with a note saying "If you need this moved, speak to me at number 67 (CFN's house!) So as of 10pm her car is now blocking the road (which is only access to garages and two neighbours) I spoke to the two neighbors, outraged on our behalf and they are fine with this as car will be gone at 4am.
