Why do people keep saying "I'd like some Advise" when they mean Advice.Angry
Seriously winds me up along with
Brought when they mean Bought and getting
Where we're were mixed up
Do people not bother with school or dictionaries anymore ?
If you're dyslexic or have SEN then my post is not aimed at you.

The usual suspect is here I see...

Not sure who that refers to, but rather than make a cryptic remark, why not engage with the argument: pick something that someone has said that you disagree with and explain why you disagree with it.

DadDadDad · 26/07/2017 15:24

And yes, I would have been more "correct" to say "Not sure to whom that refers..." Smile

Meh!
Life's too short to worry about this kind of stuff.
We all know what they mean.

Or should I word it
Lives to short!

Is it I? Smile

I think I knows...

no, it's not you

Mine IS due to special needs - no need to belittle peoples own experiences.

In my case years of humiliation at the hands of teachers, lots of self doubt, fear of being asked to 'make notes on the flip chart paper' in training and meetings - took till about 40 to say 'oh fuck off' to all that self loathing and see it as other peoples problem

managed a degree and masters though despite being thick

I really HATE the brought/bought mixup. My in-laws say that and it really irritates me. You don't "bruy" things, you BUY them and then they're bought!

I have dyslexia and I live in a different country, so my English is even worse now. When I do use it formally I need to use a dictionary and do a double spell check. I sometimes send things to my mother (an retired English teacher and writer) to proof read before I send it into the big wide world. But I'm fucked if I'm doing that with my mumsnet posts!
