To reheat & eat takeaway curry from Friday? (3 nights ago)

Would you?
Unopened tub of yummy chicken Korma from takeaway on Friday night. Was kept warm in the oven for about an hour then cooled on the side and been in the fridge since. Really fancy hearing it up and having with some freshly cooked rice. Bad idea or ok?

I wouldn't.

SummerSazz · 24/07/2017 20:15

I've just had goat curry from Friday night 😬

tankerdale · 24/07/2017 20:16

Maybe if I give it a sniff first?? It's from a very reputable place.... can you tell I really want it?

No not chicken.

Seeingadistance · 24/07/2017 20:16

I wouldn't.

Twodogsandahooch · 24/07/2017 20:17

I'm quite relaxed but that would be pushing it for me.

TheMasterNotMargarita · 24/07/2017 20:17

Nah.
And I'm normally fairly lax. Take no chances with chicken.
The day after I would but then it would be binned.

AndNowItIsSeven · 24/07/2017 20:17

Not be silly you will be really ill. Why didn't you eat it when ordered?

RoganJosh · 24/07/2017 20:17

I would. Three days is my limit.

Alicia555 · 24/07/2017 20:18

You might get the "brown rain" if you do

danTDM · 24/07/2017 20:18

I would Grin

DonutCone · 24/07/2017 20:18

Eww. No way.

SpunBodgeSquarepants · 24/07/2017 20:19

I would and have with no ill effect! Just make sure it's really really heated through.

ChristmasFluff · 24/07/2017 20:20

I'm lax and my cut off is 48 hours, even non-meat curry.

stonecircle · 24/07/2017 20:20

Nooooo! Food poisoning is NO fun believe me! Though a great way of losing weight - I think I dropped 2 stone.

TiggeryBear · 24/07/2017 20:20

I would. But I've been known to freeze an unopened takeaway (put straight in the freezer once cooled) & cook 2 weeks later. Also eaten Saturday night's leftover byriani on Thursday.

It's not how old it is that would put me off, more how it's been stored. Left to sit in a warm oven for an hour and then longer on the side?

Ragwort · 24/07/2017 20:22

I would too - cast iron stomach Grin

ShutUpBaz · 24/07/2017 20:22

No no no!! Bin it. Grim.

BabychamSocialist · 24/07/2017 20:22

48hours is about my limit. That said, DP has been known to eat a curry from a Monday on the following Saturday and he's not died yet.

I'm always iffy when it comes to reheating chicken in general though.

PlausibleSuit · 24/07/2017 20:23

Lol @ Alicia's 'brown rain'.

I'd err on not but I'm particular about chicken ever since an incident.

DramaAlpaca · 24/07/2017 20:24

Nope. For takeaway 48 hours is my limit. Safer to bin it I reckon.

tankerdale · 24/07/2017 20:25

I'm choosing to listen to the very minority people that would and am going in, wish me luck, Will report back about whether it was a good idea or not. Or If this is my last post ever, I've really enjoyed Mumsnet x
