To reheat & eat takeaway curry from Friday? (3 nights ago)

Would you?
Unopened tub of yummy chicken Korma from takeaway on Friday night. Was kept warm in the oven for about an hour then cooled on the side and been in the fridge since. Really fancy hearing it up and having with some freshly cooked rice. Bad idea or ok?

I would eat it
In fact, I often do keep leftover curry for up to 3 days
I have never been ill yet and it does actually taste better after a few days
I never keep the rice, though as it's not safe to reheat rice

lmer · 24/07/2017 20:28

Nope, not chicken

Leaspr · 24/07/2017 20:29

I think yesterday would have been my limit but I hope you enjoy! Grin

ClashCityRocker · 24/07/2017 20:29

I probably would if it was a tomato based one, but I wouldn't serve it to anybody else.
A korma's creamy isn't it, or is it coconut milk?
Good luck op!

Ankleswingers · 24/07/2017 20:29

No way

olympicsrock · 24/07/2017 20:31

No!!!

TupperwareTat · 24/07/2017 20:34

Surely its sort of the same like a Tesco curry in a bag or a homemade one?
Cook it, fridge it, heat it, eat it.

Noregretsatall · 24/07/2017 20:36

I would. You'll be fine op.

SomethingNastyInTheBallPool · 24/07/2017 20:37

I often have leftover Friday night curry for lunch on Monday. In fact, I did today, and it was delicious. But I'm not sure I'd risk it with chicken.

ShowMePotatoSalad · 24/07/2017 20:38

Ditto 48 hours my absolute limit.

I'm frankly amazed that you were able to resist the call of leftover curry for 3 days!!!

13Bastards · 24/07/2017 20:52

As long as you reheat it well it will be fine.

PollytheDolly · 24/07/2017 21:05

I would. I have. Enjoy.

TheMasterNotMargarita · 25/07/2017 23:03

Did you die, op or are you still with us ?😁

sweetbitter · 25/07/2017 23:05

I'd want to be blasé about it and eat it, but if it was from a take away I might hesitate. If I are it Id reheat it until it was boiling hot. If it was home cooked I'd just eat it without worrying.

Coastalcommand · 25/07/2017 23:07

You're very quiet op?

Hudson10 · 25/07/2017 23:45

It's not how old it is that would put me off, more how it's been stored

This. If it had been cooled first and then immediately put into the fridge or freezer, I'd say three days would be fine if you heated it up thoroughly (as well as defrosting if frozen of course).
Definitely wouldn't risk any more days later than 3 though.

Hudson10 · 25/07/2017 23:47

I never keep the rice, though as it's not safe to reheat rice

YES to this. That's one thing I won't reheat or eat the next day. Rice.

BarbaraofSeville · 25/07/2017 23:50

I'd probably eat it but leftover takeaway after 3 days is so far off my radar that I have to ask what terrible tradegy prevented you from eating it straight away?

BarbaraofSeville · 25/07/2017 23:52

I reheat rice all the time and have never had an issue in several decades of being in control of my own rice consumption.

crazywriter · 25/07/2017 23:55

I would. Just make sure its piping hot. Its only like the bagged meals in the supermarkets where theyre cooked and fridged and you just reheat them.

How did it go OP? Still alive?

SuumCuique · 25/07/2017 23:57

I definitely wouldn't.....but DH would for sure....but he has a 'cast iron' stomach! Wink

Majora · 26/07/2017 00:34

I'm curious as to whether OP got food poisoning.

tankerdale · 26/07/2017 18:37

Nope, still here!! No ill effects and it was yum.

letsmargaritatime · 26/07/2017 18:39

Would have been fine if it had fine straight in the fridge but not after being kept lukewarm all that time. But 3 days if properly stored is fine
