Sorry. makes

Lweji · 28/07/2017 23:19

That make him the first, I think?

The first was Trump, actually.

PerkingFaintly · 28/07/2017 23:22

Thanks for taking that one for the team, OYBBK!

Haven't tried to read all the screen shots, but general tenor from Brei tbart seems to be "Scaramucci the globalist elite".

Which is interesting, because my main thoughts watching his interview with Emily Maitlis were:

a) that Scaramucci was leaning very heavily on the narrative of him and Donny being the anti-elitist heroes against the elitist slime (and Maitlis was having none of it);
and
b) ew, stop pawing her.

So what's the real news that the firing of Preibus is distracting us from?

cozietoesie · 28/07/2017 23:31

Well, you can surely imagine that one, Across.

cozietoesie · 28/07/2017 23:33

True, Lweji. Wink

Important reminder: Reince Priebus was among only Trump campaign insiders NOT to sign non-disclosure agreement last year.

Who else didn't? (That 'among'.)

SetPhasersTaeMalkie · 29/07/2017 00:02

That article is scary lionheart.

Explains why Trump picked him though.

lionheart · 29/07/2017 00:29

To give you a sense of the chaos-level this week, and perhaps shed light on why: 3 and 4 days ago, Kusher testified to Congress on Russia.

.@KellyannePolls: "I think it's very important that people not treat elected officials like [@POTUS and @VP] as their peers." #TheStory

I'm really not sure what Kellyanne Conway is talking about here. Is she putting POTUS up on some kind of golden pedestal? Does she not know who he is?

TheClaws · 29/07/2017 01:27

Breitbarters think the sacking of Priebus is great: the primary leaker gone! They believed Scaramucci's narrative of his being the WH leaker and haven't let go despite this being debunked. Sad

TheClaws · 29/07/2017 01:44

Through all the madness of the last week, we haven't seen Bannon. I don't think we should fall into the trap of thinking this means he is out of the picture, and certainly not just because that shrew Scaramucci said nasty things about him. If anything, that means Bannon is closer to Trump than we realised. We are at this stage of the play because Bannon deemed it so, IMO. He's not going anywhere.

CaveMum · 29/07/2017 07:01

Next in the firing line - Sessions, Tillerson and Kellyanne? I can't see Bannon going anywhere unless Donny has an epic tantrum.

Twitter folks also sugggesting Melania might want to think about asking for political asylum during her upcoming trip to Canada Grin

OnTheDarkSideOfTheSpoon · 29/07/2017 08:31

John kelly should fit right in - that article about his scaremongering speech was, well, scary.

Speaking of NDAs

shareblue.com/kellyanne-conway-calls-gop-who-voted-against-repeal-loch-ness-monsters-of-the-swamp/

As is to be expected, the White House is not happy about this latest failure. Trump lashed out on Twitter, as is his custom. Meanwhile, his senior adviser Kellyanne Conway told Sean Hannity on Fox News that the three Republicans who voted against the bill — Sens. Lisa Murkowski, Susan Collins, and John McCain — are “Loch Ness monsters of the swamp.”

CONWAY: The Loch Ness monsters of the swamp are always going to try to get in the way of this president and his agenda. I don’t know what they were expecting. He said, like all those senators said, I’m going to repeal and replace Obamacare. Sean, if I showed you all of those senators, all those members of Congress, who ran successfully on repealing and replacing Obamacare — there were no asterisks, no footnotes, no bibliographies, no maybe shoulda woulda coulda — it was very straightforward. I can show you their paid advertisements, I can show you them in 16 different shots at podiums, and with the crowds, pledging to repeal and replace Obamacare, straight up.

Now, the one person who’s keeping that promise is Donald Trump. He’s been here for six short months, got pen in hand. They’ve been talking about this for seven years, four consecutive elections cycles, while he was busy being a successful business man in New York, and around the globe, they were promising their constituents. It’s not just a campaign promise. It’s a moral imperative.

I know it's almost pointless hearing what KAC has to say but Loch Ness monsters was too absurd to pass on.

Gumpendorf · 29/07/2017 08:57

pledging to repeal and replace Obamacare, straight up.

I wish, in all this Rep rhetoric someone would say not even Obama objects to repealing and replacing Obamacare but the question is 'with what'. Replacing with a healthcare system that takes coverage away from millions who most need it isn't a 'moral imperative' but morally repugnant. This is what the Dems with Collins and Mercowski were saying. I'm still not sure about McCain - he wasn't prepared to go along with a sham of a bill but for him, it never seemed to be about the content but the process.
