Ermmm...

This is disgusting, but what the actual fuck is wrong with this? What cream does it need?
Doctor? Nurse? Pharmacist?

I have no medical training but would guess at fungal infection. Maybe try the pharmacy first.

FaithAgain · 21/07/2017 09:26

Hmm! I'd try a pharmacist initially. I reckon it could probably be treated with an OTC cream.

Sexykittenhells · 21/07/2017 09:27

Ewwwwww fungas! You need the doc to prescribe a cream.

defineme · 21/07/2017 09:27

You can. Get thrush in your belly button, try canestan or mild hydrocortisone if that doesn't work.

switswoo81 · 21/07/2017 09:30

I had a belly button that looked like that once on holiday in Thailand . then it started spreading , was cellulitis ended up on huge doses of antibiotics. Draw a line around the end point of rash to see if it's spreading.

skyzumarubble · 21/07/2017 09:38

Fungal, get to the pharmacy!

RitaMills · 21/07/2017 09:42

Fungal infection, looks identical to the one I had. I used canesten hydrocortisone cream available from any chemist and it cleared up very quickly.

Buggeritimgettingup · 21/07/2017 09:44

Definitely draw a line around the red bit in case it spreads.

Grossandembarrassing · 21/07/2017 09:44

Caniston it is!

Be sure to ask for the hydrocortisone canesten, it'll be gone in a couple of days.

Grossandembarrassing · 21/07/2017 09:48

Thanks!

Fungal or cellulitis. Needs treatment.

ThePlatypusPosse · 21/07/2017 09:56

Lyme's? Sorry but it looks a bit bulls eyeish - definitely get it looked at by pharmacist rather than just going to get the cream over the counter.

Familyof3or4 · 21/07/2017 10:04

Difiniteky not lymes

Familyof3or4 · 21/07/2017 10:04

Sorry typos

PlinkyTheFairyWitch · 21/07/2017 10:05

Ringworm? Get thee to the GP!

HeyRoly · 21/07/2017 10:07

If it's fungal, then you'll need the anti-fungal Canestan, not the hydrocortisone one. Just trust whatever the pharmacist recommends!

Grossandembarrassing · 21/07/2017 10:11

Oh god
I don't know if I can show it to the pharmacist! It's rank!

You can buy it online at Chemist Direct.

user1471426611 · 21/07/2017 10:25

I had something similar last week. Just explained it to the pharmacist- went into the little room first - he said it was a bacterial infection and I used saving cream for 3 days. All cleared up now. He didn't ask to see it.

TheViceOfReason · 21/07/2017 10:37

Are you overweight at all and been hot / sweaty lately? Does it smell?

If so, most likely a bit of irritation / infection caused by heat / lack of fresh air. It's very common. Give it a good clean and dry twice a day and wipe over with TCP. It'll be fine in a couple of days.

ThePlatypusPosse · 21/07/2017 10:47

gross

Honestly, if it is Lyme's it is much better treated earlier rather than waiting. The pharmacist will have seen much, much worse than a dodgy belly button - trust me!

FretYeNotAllIsShiny · 21/07/2017 10:56

My guess is ringworm, which you treat with daktacore (spelling?)

GlitteryFluff · 21/07/2017 11:11

I am large of tum and got this a few times
I just kept it clean, dry and (when I could) laid in a position so air could get to it and it cleared up in a few days.
I assumed it was just skin rubbing and being hot and sweaty etc

Brittbugs80 · 21/07/2017 12:06

You've either not dried your tummy button properly or you've been sweating. I had once before I lost weight. I just washed and dried thoroughly and wiped with diluted Dettol. It cleared after two days. Haven't had it since but now I dry my button better.
