I know it's been done to death but I need to get this out

Scrumptious.

Fuck that word. Just fuck it.

It's a stupid, self indulgent sort of word.

"Oh isn't he SCRUMPTIOUS!" Angry

It's such a childish word somehow. So Mary Poppins.

Also

Meal

Bickies
Chippies

I don't know why they annoy me so much but I have a physical, cringe reaction when I hear them. Especially 'chippies' - it just sounds so... something. Makes my stomach churn.

apostropheuse · 18/07/2017 15:22

Poorly
Horrid
C*nt

Dowser · 18/07/2017 15:23

Piss

As in boils my piss

It's like nails screeching down a blackboard.
It's quite unusual as I'm a very sweary person.

Dowser · 18/07/2017 15:25

However for some very strange reason, known only to my brain which doesn't appear to be connected to my mouth

I say Piss off quite a lot!

( I haven't quite plumbed the depths of Kim woodburn yet, heaven forbid!)

KoalaDownUnder · 18/07/2017 15:26

'Poorly'.

Makes me think of a grey-skinned shuffling person out of Eastenders with a fag hanging out the corner of their droopy mouth. Ugh.

The80sweregreat · 18/07/2017 15:28

I hate pickle too - no they are not. They are being naughty! pickle is for cheese.
snot.
agree about 'packed meal' - packed lunch is also terrible as i used to detest having to make them for school lunches.
Thinking outside the box, such a stupid expression
Blue sky thinking is another one.
i know these are more than one word.

Salmotrutta · 18/07/2017 15:28

Slacks
Light lunch - so irritating for an unfathomable reason.
Plate up - just say serve!
Slap up meal - really dislike that

I seem to have a lot of food related ones!

The80sweregreat · 18/07/2017 15:30

Slacks is awful. my dad calls his trousers slacks!
the more you say it , the worse it becomes

Dowser · 18/07/2017 15:30

Deplaning

Normally only heard in America
Gives me the rage.

The80sweregreat · 18/07/2017 15:32

When you say to someone ' you okay?' and they go ' yeah, you?'
i hate this so much. Iwant to hear how they are, i know i;m okay!

' can i get' instead of 'may I have?'
just sounds rude to me.

JamesSpaderMadeMeDoIt · 18/07/2017 15:33

Uterus
I'm with you on 'meal' too - shudder

witchofzog · 18/07/2017 15:33

Simples

Just fuck off Angry

JungleInTheRumble · 18/07/2017 15:34

Obligated. Not a word.

GallicosCats · 18/07/2017 15:35

Breezy, in its non-meteorological sense. It comes across as if they're hiding something or trying to avoid you because they dislike you for a really trivial reason like using words you hate

In a related vein, 'I'm not being funny but...' usually followed by a rude personal criticism. And 'By the way' which in teens is generally followed by some sort of unwelcome bombshell of the 'We're building a castle made of cake for tomorrow' variety.

MrsOverTheRoad · 18/07/2017 15:35

Salmon YES to "plate up" and also "dish up"

OP posts:
The80sweregreat · 18/07/2017 15:37
