Not really AIBU - just want to hear your thoughts really.

I don't often watch it, but think it's nice that they've finally cast a woman as the Doctor :)

Boney, if you won't see it then you won't.

Sadly things will only improve when people do see it, and make an effort to acknowledge sexism and deal with it.

I have already said that I have seen misogynistic views, that I have a more 'middle of the road' view seems to be a stumbling block for some.

"Rabid feminist" was used to show the other extreme from "misogynist", context is the key.

Can't say I agree, rabid feminist is yielded as a put down; both lose credibility in an argument. Menz is more the contrary term for rabid feminist, both terms are used to mock, put down and belittle a particular sex's belief about the rights, automatic privileges or assumed allowable advantages of their sex (whether they are extreme or not). The man that wrote the comment the menz posts isn't concerned about acting skills.

Misandry is the other extreme to misogyny.

Plus anyone getting uptight about the Doctor taking female form, as opposed to the choice in actor (regardless of the actor's genitalia) is a fool.

I never, ever like or approve of the new doctor

This!! The new dr ALWAYS gets slated and told they have to be amazing etc, man or woman. I was devastated about David tennant being cast, but then he ended up probably my fave one!

If I put Misandry it would derail the thread with how it doesn't exist, So i will use which term I feel most fits the context.
that you don't like it is fine as we are both allowed opinions.

As to what the picture contained I couldn't tell you because I couldn't be bothered after reading the term "menz".

Zoe Wanamaker would have been brilliant but my opinion doesn't count since I hate Doctor Who.
