I've got new neighbours. I really doubt they are my kind of people. They've got a glittery toilet seat.

What makes you hoik up your Irrational Judgy Pants?

People that drive huge 4 by 4's, (the exception being Farmers and people who regularly need to go off road).
They are massive, take up tons of space (where I live on very old narrow roads that aren't big enough for them), and they aren't good for the environment. I don't buy the argument that anyone 'needs' one for all their child equipment... I had two under two and a Ford Ka, and I lived very rurally, and I managed just fine...

The80sweregreat · 17/07/2017 11:16

we have been married nearly 28 years and always pooled our money - everyone is different of course, but its worked for us (mostly.)

Leapfrog44 · 17/07/2017 11:17

Toddlers with dummies
Juice in baby bottles
Feeding kids junk food
Anyone with a blog with the word 'Mummy' in it
Bloggers who pout
Instagramers
having more than 2 kids
driving diesel cars
net curtains
laminate floor
perfumed laundry detergent

ConstanceCraving · 17/07/2017 11:19

Having more than two kids? Grin Christ that's a harsh one.

I judge overweight brides in strapless wedding dresses

To be fair, it's hard enough finding a plus size wedding dress, let alone one with sleeves. Believe me, I tried (and failed).

CoffeeMilkNoSugar · 17/07/2017 11:40

Laminate flooring? But... carpets are unhygienic and high maintenance. My life has improved significantly since I changed carpets to laminate flooring. :)

Yes, it's the manufacturers/designers we should be judging. A dress you're going to be wearing for 9-12 hours needs to FIT and if you have boobs or any fat at all then it needs a bit of architecture to it.

A vicar I know says he is thoroughly sick of being able to see down to the bride's belly button when she's kneeling. He can't not look at her because of the liturgy, but glory!

Notreallyarsed · 17/07/2017 12:08

This thread makes me glad I'm generally pretty anti social and don't deal with people much Grin

I have one
Grown ups (and it's mainly
Women) that use the filter in facebook to make their faces look like kittens with little noses and whiskers

Do people know what I mean ?

You are 42 bitch not 14 Angry

ppeatfruit · 17/07/2017 12:26

Yes I agree about the wedding dresses, do the brides actually WANT bare shoulders and boobage showing ? Or is it that there are no other designs to choose from. I like the ones with a shrug or bolero type cover up. Then I'm an old fogey Grin

MrsHathaway · 17/07/2017 12:39

Shrugs and boleros only cover the shoulders, though. They don't assist with fit.

After the Royal Wedding we suddenly saw lace shoulders. You'd think that was a minor thing (lots of flesh still visible) but suddenly there's a lot more structure to the whole dress and a lot less gaping and back fat spillage.

We live round the corner from a wedding dress shop and I've really noticed a change in the standard offering. She changes the window display about fortnightly and whereas five years ago or so every dress was shoulderless, now at least 75% have some kind of lace or straps or cap sleeve. Far more elegant.

See also attached image for why going strapless is a horrible idea.

ppeatfruit · 17/07/2017 12:50

Oh yes I loved the young Duchess's dress. It had class, Pippa's was nice too.

OneOfTheGrundys · 17/07/2017 12:53

People who neither live nor work rurally but who drive 4x4s.

There. I judged. Grin

PlinkyTheFairyWitch · 17/07/2017 13:02

ppeatfruit I got married in 2012. I had to travel from Manchester to Leeds to find a shop that had more than, oh, 3 plus size dresses. It was sheer joy to find something I could bloody well actually try on instead of some assistant holding some wisp of gauze I could just about fit one thigh into up against me and telling me I just had to order it now. Still, even in this marvellous place, there were no sleeves.

I got one with a bolero then ditched it post ceremony and photos cos I was so bleedin' hot. I didn't have that much cleavage on show though!

ppeatfruit · 17/07/2017 13:08

As I thought Plinky They don't seem to make them with sleeves any more, very strange Grin I bet if we asked why , the buyers would say "there's no demand" Bullshit Grin

I suppose they'd be more expensive.

PlinkyTheFairyWitch · 17/07/2017 13:18

Absolutely agree, ppeatfruit!

I still think it's outrageous that, in a country where the average dress size is a 14-16, wedding dress shops generally only carry sizes 8 to 12 to try on.

So I guess I judge sizeist sleeveless frock shops Grin

ppeatfruit · 17/07/2017 13:31

If the weather's hot then those dresses look passable. It's odd that what was once the design of the bodice of a ball gown (or ballet dress) is considered fine for a EVERY wedding dress.!

Decaffstilltastesweird · 17/07/2017 13:36

Sorry, just jumping into the wedding dress debate. I've seen a few lovely wedding dresses with sleeves recently, so I think they do exist now!

When I married DH I bought a second hand dress from eBay. There was nothing with sleeves on there, so I ended up buying a strapless one and having straps added. I can't wear strapless at all.

Re the tattoo thing showing in wedding dresses too. A friend of a friend had paw prints tattooed on her chest when she was about 18. When she came to get married she hated the tattoos and had to have a dress which would cover them custom made for her. I love tattoos, but wasn't keen on hers. My own tattoo is well hidden, but do think if it wasn't I'd have had to choose a different dress to either cover or go better with it.

ppeatfruit · 17/07/2017 13:50

That's a clever thing to do Decaff You'd need a good dressmaker though!

BTW ref. your user name! there is very good decaff . It's ground organic and you would never guess that it's decaff. I drink it occasionally. Grin

Decaffstilltastesweird · 17/07/2017 13:54

Oh thanks ppeat. Do you happen to know the name of it?

ppeatfruit · 17/07/2017 15:06

Well, Grin you can get it in Waitrose, probably Sainsbos too and the health food shops do it. I know Carte Noir do it . I can't remember the other names. You'll find it. DH likes to grind the beans but I can't be bothered, it does taste stronger though, it is ground so you need a filter with it.

Decaffstilltastesweird · 17/07/2017 15:43

Thanks ppeat. I'll have a look next online shop. I bet Ocado do it. They seem to do everything!

cabbage67 · 17/07/2017 15:56

Edmund totally with you on that. She looks so trashy. She obviously hasn't heard that less is more

scampimom · 17/07/2017 16:12

Adults describing food as "yummy" or, even worse, "scrummy".

People who shop at Waitrose. Even though I do occasionally. but we did say irrational judgey pants, didn't we.

People who only buy wooden toys for kids, and ugly-expensive kids clothes from places like Boden, and kids parties with crudites and hummous. Give the ankle-biters a Burger King meal with a free toy and get over yourselves.

DadOnIce · 17/07/2017 16:26

The "you can't prove it doesn't work" argument for homeopathy is a logical fallacy. It's not logically possible to prove a negative (the Loch Ness Monster doesn't exist, UFOs don't exist, etc.).

Always, the person making the positive claim has to authenticate it.

So instead, you have to look for positive evidence that it does work. And we're talking proper blind tests with control groups. There's no evidence in the slightest. It's all total bullshit.
