I've got new neighbours. I really doubt they are my kind of people. They've got a glittery toilet seat.

What makes you hoik up your Irrational Judgy Pants?

MamaHanji omg. This happened to me! I couldn't understand why my teeth started yellowing after pregnancy. My dentist refuses to clean them saying I'm to blame thru change in diet - but it's been the bloody same!!!Angry

CheshireChat · 17/07/2017 00:11

I love the fact my mum got my ears pierced at a few days old- those piercings don't close no matter how long I don't wear earrings.

I get why some people aren't that keen, but it's really not the end of the world.

Gwenhwyfar · 17/07/2017 00:57

"Either don't wash them so soon to a visit if you know they will be left out, plan better, or remove them for the duration of their visit."

Not possible to remove them for the duration of the visit - I'd have nowhere to put them.
Also don't think it's reasonable for me to have to cancel my weekly machine wash because I have guests. Clean the place, yes, but make my own life very complicated, I don't think so.

StrangeLookingParasite · 17/07/2017 01:05

a penis does little to help when you're grouting Janet!

ponders name change to GroutingJanet

MadreTranquillitatis · 17/07/2017 01:09

@wildbhoysmama I think it's sweet, like you mum lives on in you a bit. I'm the same with my grandma, e.g. she always had very thick, white cotton bedlinen. So do my parents and so do we. Of course I don't judge people who prefer coloured/patterned ones, I've seen some beautiful ones at friends' houses but I would never buy one for us, it'd feel so very wrong Grin

@Maireadplastic you are amazing, I don't think I could have managed to reply like you if someone was so fucking rude to me Flowers

Ledkr · 17/07/2017 07:06

.
I thought the same. Proof of not being stupid unlike posters who throw out insults for no reason!

WarwickDavisAsPlates · 17/07/2017 07:20

Constance I suppose it's just about what's important to you. My name is important to me so I'd never change it for someone else.

Like I said I know it's an irrational thing to judge.

Coastalcommand · 17/07/2017 07:45

People who write "of" when they mean "have" and "done" when they mean "did" upset me.

Coastalcommand · 17/07/2017 07:47

Oh, and I think white gold engagement and wedding rings look common. No reason for it, but a simple yellow gold band looks much more traditional.

Maireadplastic · 17/07/2017 08:24

Ah, thank you Madre and Ledkr. I must admit I had to take a breath. No secure and truly intelligent person would behave like that though.

wildbhoysmama · 17/07/2017 08:46

Madre, it is like that, she's around all the time ( I speak to her in my head but I'm not strange, honest!). Can't believe you're a white, cotton bedlinen person too Smile

Gwen, the underwear drying was directed at my sister, you do what you like with your undies as I'm sure they're lovely and not crusty!

peachgreen · 17/07/2017 08:49

@WarwickDavisAsPlates I felt the complete opposite - taking my husband's name felt like I was asserting my identity and creating something new just for me. After all, I chose to marry my husband - I didn't choose to be my father's daughter (not that I have any issues with my dad!). But taking my husband's name was very much my decision - he wouldn't have forced me to do so and equally would have taken my name if I'd wanted him to, so perhaps it being a completely free choice for me is what made the difference. Either way I definitely feel more 'myself' in my married name than I did in my maiden name.

cherry2727 · 17/07/2017 08:50

Posts like this where people climb unto their high horse and mention things which irritate them about other people!!

You have one set of people saying " I can't stand abc, then you get the other accused set of people defending themselves and trying to state that abc is fine !!!

Yes I know - I can leave the post and I am leaving ! Just thought I'd share What gets my knickers In a twist too!

Dormez · 17/07/2017 08:56

I have a glittery toilet seat, I just liked it in B&Q. I had no idea people were judging me for it!

ppeatfruit · 17/07/2017 09:34

Yes they did Parasite they also complain about hearing "All those foreign languages in London". The woman who said this gave me a look when I replied "I wonder what the french think when they hear 'all those foreign languages'" in France".

Yup no sense of awareness or irony at all.

beautifuldaytosavelives · 17/07/2017 09:36

The use of the word 'gotten' by anyone who isn't American.
People who identify themselves only by their children - eg username 'donald'smummy'.
Car stickers
Furry flipflops

There'll be more

supermoon100 · 17/07/2017 09:46

White range rovers

uokhunni · 17/07/2017 09:59

I judge overweight brides in strapless wedding dresses. Especially if tattoos are showing too.

bsbabas · 17/07/2017 10:10

People who don't keep their house clean. Fat men who stare at women half their age. People who can't listen to the opera without saying something stupid. Parents who spoil their adult children. People who don't vaccinate. People who say they don't read books. Celebrities and rock stars that commit crimes and get a minimum sentence. Men who marry women half their age.

bsbabas · 17/07/2017 10:12

People who believe in chemtrails. Women who have shitty marriages so take it out on you

ZombiesAreClammyDodgers · 17/07/2017 10:22

People who don't exercise their right to franchise because they thought their vote "wouldn't count" and then are surprised the vote went the opposite of what they wanted.
People who vote a particular way without thinking, because their neighbour said something or because their spouse was voting that way or because they couldn't be arsed to read up from objective sources and use their own brains.

ZombiesAreClammyDodgers · 17/07/2017 10:23

Women who unquestioningly accept and perpetuate patriarchal bullshit.

bimbobaggins · 17/07/2017 10:33

People who think finances should be pooled and call it " family money" and judge everyone else who happens to do it differently
Different things work for different folk

Mmzz · 17/07/2017 10:45

@bimbobaggins I do that - joint bank account, joint savings etc. I think it is what I signed up to when I got married i.e. pooling what we each had and building together. I'd hate to find myself earning more or less than my husband and needing to discuss who pays for what and in what proportions. Or even worse - getting an allowance from him when I was on maternity leave.

CruCru · 17/07/2017 11:00

Adults who don't use joined up handwriting.

Piercing small children's ears.

People who are unprepared for important things.
