TMI warning - To ask you to share with me your pregnancy symptoms?

snoopypoodle · 15/07/2017 10:51

Currently pg with DC2.
With DC1 I didn't really have any symptoms or felt I was pregnant until the last month or two when I got really tired, leaky boobs, heartburn and night calve cramps.

This time around seems worse and I feel gross in general, I'm 5 months and so far:

  • first trimester fatigue
  • first trimester nausea
  • first trimester sensitivity to smells
  • developed a haemorrhoid Blush
  • had a UTI
  • constant runny nose
  • very achy boobs
  • already slight cramps in calves
  • back ache
  • and now noticed a small skin tag near my lady bits which upon research found out it can be caused by hormonal imbalance during pregnancy Confused

Feel crappy, down, stinky and gross. For some stupid reason I thought the second time around would be similar to the first...

Aibu to ask you to share your symptoms so I don't feel so left out?

1st baby (a girl):

  • Hyperemesis Gravidarum. I didn't know it was possible to vomit so many times in a single day Sad was hospitalised 4 times due to it.
  • Heartburn
  • Enormous boobs (grew 4 cup sizes!)
  • Restless legs at night
  • Piles
  • Fatigue (probably worse because of the Hyperemesis)
  • Crazy horny all the time Blush
  • Acne
  • Craved orange juice

2nd baby (a boy):

  • Fatigue (probably from having an 8 month old to take care of as well as being pregnant!)
  • Mild morning sickness
  • Heartburn
  • SPD from around 20 weeks
  • Restless legs at night
  • Craved orange juice
  • piles

And they say pregnant is a beautiful experience?!! Grin

MyBreadIsEggy · 15/07/2017 10:56

Oh and I had random Nose bleeds during both pregnancies too

NotTheMrMenAgain · 15/07/2017 10:57

HG - vomited until I was admitted to hospital for fluids via a drip. Went home. Vomited til I was admitted to hospital for fluids etc - in a groundhog day type loop.

When the puking finally stopped I felt extra stinky but everything smelt extra stinky anyhow.

Got thrush. Boobs went enormous. Hormonally, insanely happy. (Didn't last long!).

Morecaffeineplease · 15/07/2017 21:27

Prolonged hormone induced migraine to the point I had brain scans looking for blood clots. Daily injections to thin blood as a preventive. 3 years on & I still have to see the neurologist.

Had to resign from employment as the amount of sick leave was getting embarrassing meaning I got SMA instead of SMP.

Constipation relieved by Laxido.

Massive citrus cravings.

Oh....& it aggrivatated and encouraged my autoimmune inflammatory arthritis so I now have MRI's, blood tests, ultrasounds, physiotherapy every 12 weeks for life, I have gone from working 72 hours p/w to just 5-7hours and am in receipt of PIP and have had to sell our ideal home to live 20 miles away in a bungalow.

Other than that, pregnancy was great Wink

Beautiful DD.

Hope you feel better soon x

Amd724 · 15/07/2017 21:38

I'm pregnant with my first, its a girl.

I've had first trimester morning sickness, with being ill. Headaches, exhaustion (tired doesn't even describe it), bad pelvic pain at night, night leg cramps, horrible gas cramps, acne (didn't even get acne when I was a teenager), enormous boobs (went up quite a few sizes), and swollen feet. I got swollen feet at 14 weeks. Heartburn and indigestion since 14 weeks.

I'm still exhausted, and I'm 24 weeks. I still need a 2-3 hour nap. I don't sleep very well at night because of the pelvic pain and leg cramps. I find it difficult to stay on my left or right side during the night. The hormonal swings are horrible as well. I haven't had the 2nd trimester glow that people talk about. My allergies are going crazy and I can't take anything. I'm also asthmatic and have found myself out of breath more than normal.

Itsnotwhatitseems · 15/07/2017 21:40

Heartburn
Weight gain
nausea
vomiting
mood swings
went off fish to the extent I would gag just watching someone else eat it
high blood pressure
water retention
craved ice lollies

TowerOfJoyless · 15/07/2017 22:07

1st baby:

Psoriasis cleared up again

DorisMcSweeney · 15/07/2017 22:11

1st baby
Child emerging form my vagina was a clue

ememem84 · 15/07/2017 22:25

Woah doris seriously?! Wow!

I'm preg with first. A boy.

I had:
Nausea first trimester
Sleepless nights due to needing to pee at least twice a night - first trimester
Feeling terribly thirsty (which didn't help the above)
Aversion to coffee smell
Stuffy/runny nose
Feeling blocked in one ear

Lana1234 · 15/07/2017 22:56

I'm 35 wks pregnant with my first, a boy.

Had fatigue mixed with insomnia, nausea, vomiting, heartburn, UTI, thrush, back pain, pelvic pain, swollen feet, stretchmarks everywhere and now getting braxton hicks in these last few weeks. Had an absolute ball 😂

snoopypoodle · 15/07/2017 23:16

Doris 😂

Thank you for everyone that has shared so far. It makes me feel less.

The only glow my skin has is from the sweat when I climb the stairs too many times through the day. (My fitness level is at -10)

Oh I forgot to also mention, I already need the loo every hour grrrrrrr

First pregnancy: bleeding gums, general nausia that started at about 12 weeks and never really left and bells palsey. i got it the week before xmas at 35 weeks. Im a type 1 diabetic and bells palsey is treated with sterioids, but steroids raise your blood sugar levels so i was given a choice between spending 2 weeks in hospital hooked up to a drip to keep my blood sugars steady or go home and take my chances that i would never be able to move the right side of my face again. I took my chances and thankfully fully recovered.

littleshoutymouse · 15/07/2017 23:40

Two blood vessels in my fanjo gave out (varicose vein) leaving me with two big painful, heavy, throbbing purple swellings either side. DH was scared of them Grin. The one time I looked in the mirror at them I cried my eyes out as it was such a shock! Thankfully they have disappeared now DD2 is here.

SagelyNodding · 15/07/2017 23:46

Both pregnancies: utter exhaustion, nausea, crazy stress levels, enormous comedy breasts which were so sensitive it was agony, cravings for crunchy veg (carrots), cravings for lemons, and mint magnums... Resulting in heartburn... Sciatica, a hemorrhoid, random crying... It was horrendous and I'll never do it again!

(but totally worth it!)

Meowstro · 16/07/2017 00:07

Current pregnancy:

  • Sweating (even when it was cold)
  • Hyperemesis Gravidarum (triggered by smells too)
  • Bleeding gums
  • Breathlessness
  • Sore boobs
  • Constant stuffy yet runny nose
  • PEP (stretch mark rash)
  • SPD
  • Heartburn
  • Fatigue
  • Frequent toilet trips
  • Constipation Angry
  • Pica (craving gritty things like sand, filler or crushed ice)

I think when people say pregnancy is delightful, it's a massive conspiracy to ensure people continue populating the world Grin

Bearfrills · 16/07/2017 00:08

DC1, boy

  • strong craving for all things vinegar especially bread dipped in vinegar
  • nausea especially in the evening, stopped at around 13wks
  • aversion to meat because it tasted too meaty
  • repeated bleeding
  • tiredness so bad that is get out of my side of the bed, drag myself around the bottom of it, and then get back in on DH's side. I was asleep every night by 7pm!
  • heartburn and acid reflux, would wake up choking on a mouthful of it 3-4 times a night
  • cravings for ice and frozen fruit
  • my feet grew a size (6 up to a 7)

DC2, girl

  • aversion to everything
  • no specific cravings, they changed almost weekly except for wanting ice
  • only sick once a day but felt sick constantly right up until 17 or 18wks
  • lots of energy
  • heartburn and reflux
  • my feet grew a size again (7 to an 8)
  • compulsion to drink fabric softener, I used to go down the laundry aisle at the shops opening the bottles and taking a good long sniff
  • once I got over my aversion to everything I had a love of all things meat, I'd have eaten raw steak if it was allowed

DC3, boy

  • vinegar cravings especially mushy peas in a dish with an inch deep pool of vinegar floating on top
  • vomiting multiple times a day and spending entire shifts at work in the loo with my head down the toilet right up until around 20+ wks
  • dragging tiredness, asleep on the sofa as soon as the DC were in bed
  • bleeding every four weeks when my period would have been due
  • sciatica. Fucking OUCH!
  • heartburn and acid reflux. Discovered ranitidine which worked for a little while and then stopped
  • twanging pain in section scar from DC2
  • cravings for ice
  • aversion to everything fruit or fruit based, the tiniest piece would make me throw up even after the morning sickness stage passed

DC4, girl

  • hyperemesis, started throwing up four days before my missed period (I thought I had a vomiting bug) and didn't stop until gone seven months. Was on cyclizine three times a day which helped downgrade it to "just" constant nausea but had all sorts of trouble getting my GP to renew the prescriptions for it so every time I ran out I went back to vomiting until I could get more. Even noise triggered it. Absolutely horrid.
  • heartburn and acid reflux, ended up on maximum available dose of omeprozole twice a day
  • intense rib pain (turned out she was transverse)
  • diarrhoea
  • sciatica again
  • aversion to all foods except for ice, salt and vinegar crisps (the stronger the better) and cherry Pepsi Max
  • insomnia

My sickness has gotten worse with each pregnancy and DC4 definitely cured me of any desires for a DC5!

Bosabosa · 16/07/2017 00:14

Bloody hell Bearfrills !!!

ethelfleda · 16/07/2017 00:16

Currently at 23 weeks with my first, a boy.
1st trimester -
Slight nausea for around 2 weeks
Very tired
Totally went off coffee

2nd trimester -
None really. Apart from feeling kicks of course!

I've been very lucky to be honest. Still exercising daily and eating loads of fruit and veg - really enjoying my fresh fruit and veg actually Smile

Oooh but I did nearly forget - crazy dreams!!

ethelfleda · 16/07/2017 00:19

Oh and has anyone else had tingling or 'pins and needles' under their left boob - like the baby is slightly trapping a nerve or something??

Bearfrills · 16/07/2017 00:20

bosabosa I had good bits too, I loved my bump and feeling the baby move. I'll miss the feeling of having that little presence there. Plus I got my DC out of it.

DC4 though.... yeesh. If she'd been my first, she'd have been my last Grin

MissisBee · 16/07/2017 00:23

Nausea and food aversions from 6 weeks
Vomiting started at 7. Usually only 1-2 times per week, never went more than 11 days without puking the whole way. It ramped up at the end with pre-eclampsia. This also caused massive swelling of my legs.
I coughed the whole way through too.
On the plus side, my skin had never been so good

snoopypoodle · 16/07/2017 00:30

@Bearfrills Shock

@ethelfleda yes the crazy dreams! So I'm not a weirdo! Ranging from scary to weird to whatever else my weird body/brain conjures up.

Jezzifishie · 16/07/2017 01:03

My hair and skin got ridiculously greasy. I felt sticky and gross, then to top it all off I got a massive boil just above my eye, where I couldn't hide it at all. I had bad 'morning' sickness (constant nausea, frequent vomiting all day, including waking up in the middle of the night to vomit). It was just hideous and I'm never doing it again.

HostaFireAndIce · 16/07/2017 01:38

Oh, I've had loads of hideous symptoms both times, but the weirdest has to be the drool. I would wake up at night on a pillow that was absolutely soaked in saliva. Grim.

TowerOfJoyless · 16/07/2017 06:17

Little you have just reminded me of the thrush I had in both pregs and fan jobs varicose veins in pregnancy 2! Can't believe I forgot about those!
