If he is the parents' spokesperson surely he wouldn't say anything not previously approved by then.
This whole circus is getting surreal but let them continue as the more they do the more they discredit themselves.
I wonder what the US doctor's reaction will be to this.

My guess, and it's just a guess, is that fitting Charlie with a trachey would be about as useful as fitting an unconscious amputee with a false limb!

Except with the added risk of being an invasive procedure.

I think the words they are looking for are "thank you very much for working tirelessly and keeping our son alive for the past 8 months."

They have 1.2 million at least sat in the bank waiting to treat him. Hardly poor are they! Not sure what this has to do with money

I wish the nurses could record just a couple of hours of what they are having to do to keep him alive. The hard work they are doing just to keep him in his current state.

I have just listened to the statement on sky news.
I really do feel for Charlie’s parents – I really do but after this statement I am being to lose patience with them. GOSH staff must have the patience of saints they really must and how they keep going in this shocking situation I really do not know. My hat off to GOSH staff.

I can only think that Charlie’s parents (who will not be eating or sleeping properly – quite understandably) have gotten so caught up in the false hope that Charlie will lead that a normal life (egged on by CA) that they have lost their grip on reality.
I hope this sad situation comes to a conclusion soon for everyone’s sake,

I think, when life spirals out of your control, as theirs had, you cling onto any way you can control things, suddenly things like chosing your chair can be symbolic when you're losing it inside IYKWIM, and the result can be unreasonable tantrums

I don't think I would want to be their (pro bono) lawyer right now.

I think this statement just shows how badly advised they are on all issues sadly. Any logical common sense approach has long since gone.

Well quite, Tinsel. This is exactly the reason why they shouldn't be allowed complete control of their terminally ill son.

What is crystal clear is the family do not trust the hospital and believe they are preventing them seeking treatment elsewhere. Their statement yesterday praising the hospital and the care Charlie has and is receiving seems empty now.

FGS they are hideously ill advised, instead of appreciating and respecting the judge's gentle handling they seem hell bent on going against his every advice. I imagine the doctors are dreading the Monday meeting if this is the stance the parents are taking.

I can't see how any private hospital would have acted any differently. Surely they too would have had to act in Charlie's best interests, passed treatment through an ethics committee, gone to court etc;. The law doesn't change just cause you're not on the NHS.
Not to mention the fact that there is no private hospital who could offer Charlie's care. When Sophie Wessex's daughter was ill at birth they transferred to NHS for that reason.
But then ukip don't really like the NHS.

I'll add that, through being in a a very traumatic situation myself, I understand the paranoia involved when all you're trying to do is protect a vulnerable loved one. So every mistake or miss step is scrutinised, even if minor. It's immensely stressful and looking back I think some of my thoughts were skewed. Hence why I sought councelling and help from my GP.

But this is paranoia and delusion on an epic scale. And it seems some members of their family are fuelling this. Shame on them.
