Continuation of the discussion.

It looks highly unlikely that there will be a verdict today as GOSH have not yet been able to put their case across. The Gard family had their position heard this morning and currently an expert witness from the US is being questioned via video link.

Despite most of CA posting screen shots & them all following all of the tweets all day, that 56% that's being reported is the only thing they'll now focus on. They only see the bits that they want to & don't try to understand it all correctly

It's suggested to the judge that the case is adjourned until 1400 tomorrow.

GabsAlot · 13/07/2017 18:22

Judge says this makes it inevitable that we won't get a decision tomorrow. Urges lawyers to find as much consensus as possible.

nina2b · 13/07/2017 18:22

Why does it even matter if people have been threatening GOSH? Surely that's a whole different matter. This is about saving Charlie and getting him his treatment 😣

Decent people do not threaten doctors and nurses. That is why it matters. To do so, and to abuse them in other ways, is despicable.

straighttalker · 13/07/2017 18:24

Slightly worried about the Italian guy on the phone.

Have they forgotten him?

MirandaWest · 13/07/2017 18:24

So unlikely there will be a decision until next week Sad

rabbitnothare · 13/07/2017 18:24

nina2b you know that the bolded words are the quote?

Sirzy · 13/07/2017 18:24

Why 2pm? Unless the American dr is on a plane right now why wait til 2pm

GabsAlot · 13/07/2017 18:25

sorry straight i know i shouldnt but it made me smile

muckypup73 · 13/07/2017 18:26

I will bet that judge will have a few drinks tonight

nina2b · 13/07/2017 18:26

Yes, I know it's the quote.

muckypup73 · 13/07/2017 18:26

GabsAlot, well it was funny, you can imagine someone just sitting there for hours and hours with the phone to his ear.

ChestyNut · 13/07/2017 18:27

Poor baby.
I can't see that there has been any new evidence apart from guesstimates.
Hope the case isn't drawn out for Charlie's sake.

straighttalker · 13/07/2017 18:27

I know. Not to inappropriately introduce levity, but I just keep imagining a dark empty courtroom with a phone off the hook and a moustached Italian man with one ear glued to the other end of the phone saying "Wheres-a everybody-a gone?" (people in Italy talk like that, right?

GabsAlot · 13/07/2017 18:27

It looks like tomorrow's proceedings will take the form of a multi-disciplinary meeting, to try to find a consensus.

GabsAlot · 13/07/2017 18:27

The meeting, says the judge, would seek to find better understanding of each other's views. #CharlieGard

muckypup73 · 13/07/2017 18:28

ChestyNut, theres nothing new, it will get dragged on, and whats seriously sad about it, is they are all suffering, if charlie passed away they could start greiving properly.

GabsAlot · 13/07/2017 18:28

lol mucky

Venusflytwat · 13/07/2017 18:28

A meeting. A meeting??? Ffs.

I have finally managed to report the death threat to the Met.

GabsAlot · 13/07/2017 18:29

i dont gt this meeting thing

thyer not going to agree so why prolong things

Yamayo · 13/07/2017 18:29

Not quite sure what it means. How can there be a consensus? The parents will in no way accept the expertise of the specialists who have followed Charlie's case.

Sirzy · 13/07/2017 18:29

Surely that approach has been tried well before now though?

That said if it can work then fantastic. Not really convinced how it can when both parties are seemingly at polar opposite ends and there isn't really a middle ground

DorotheaBeale · 13/07/2017 18:29

Why 2pm? Unless the American dr is on a plane right now why wait til 2pm

Maybe administrative reasons. This hearing was arranged at very short notice; someone - judge, witness, counsel, whoever - might not be available tomorrow morning.

muckypup73 · 13/07/2017 18:29

Venusflytwat, well done venus, see we all acheived something with all the reporting, now they will have to be very careful about making threats towards the staff and hospital.

FoxyRoxy · 13/07/2017 18:30

I wonder if he thinks that now c&c have heard from the witness that Charlie's quality of life will be so poor that they will decide themselves that the treatment is pointless, without him needing to make a judgement himself. Letting them make the decision, as it were?
