LetsGoFly

I've wondered that, are there actually just trolls on there who enjoy getting people riled up but don't actually believe what they are saying

Ta1kinPeace · 12/07/2017 19:38

summerbreezer
I gladly stand corrected.
I googled him and the Bedford Chambers link came up but then auto diverted.
The barristers I've dealt with (contract law cases) were indeed very quick thinking calm collected professionals.
Interestingly the QCs I know personally are exceptionally good at letting their hair down out of work Smile

MirandaWest · 12/07/2017 19:39

The amount of people in CA has hardly changed in the past few days. Last week it was going up a lot (although I did read someone saying they had added all their friends).

Are there fewer people wanting to join, or are fewer people being let in as they are worrying who will join and what they'll say?

Puzzledandpissedoff · 12/07/2017 19:41

As I understand it, the drug is not approved anywhere yet. So poor Charlie will have to wait for that before he can go

My understanding is the same, and on that basis alone I can't see that the judge will agree for Charlie to travel to the US

Given your legal experience, can I ask whether you think it's likely that the parents would be able to appeal if tomorrow's judgement isn't what they want? I realise of course that each case is different, but it's more the general principle I'm interested in

sodablackcurrant · 12/07/2017 19:42

Just to mention,

What will your reaction be if judge says stop life support within 24 hours? Or if he agrees to another stay on the case?

Either is possible.

Personally I think this should be curtailed shortly. What that shortly is I don't know. I doubt that thousands or whatever will regroup and vilify the judge (if he decides to withdraw support). Apart from the usual suspects.

Sadly, the only people for whom this is not a nine day wonder are the parents and family/loved ones really.

Everyone else is just a blip on the social media frenzy horizon.

TinselTwins · 12/07/2017 19:43

They are big fat liars! they do NOT support C&C

C&C are parents whose child will most likely die very soon, yet CA are still spouting about how parents who "let" their babies have their life support turned off are "evil" - they clearly don't care about the impact this'll have on C&C when Charlie passes

They are the exact opposite of "support". Shame on them!

Sostenueto · 12/07/2017 19:43

I'm going to pray tonight for Charlie and his parents. For Charlie that the right decision is made for him even though either option is just awful. For his parents to now have the strength to face whatever brings, because whatever the decision made tomorrow I don't think will turn out well for poor Charlie, bless his soul.Sad

lougle · 12/07/2017 19:45

I hope that whoever is nursing Charlie tonight will be able to use their excellent communication skills to build a positive relationship with his family tonight in what must be the most tense atmosphere, ahead of a day full of dread and anticipation on all sides.

BoreOfWhabylon · 12/07/2017 19:46

This case is going to be discussed on The Moral Maze BBC Radio 4 at 8PM.

Should be interesting.

redshoeblueshoe · 12/07/2017 19:47

Yayomayo Shock I honestly don't know why I'm surprised.
Somedyke - I remember hearing that recently, that one state was rushing through several executions, as the drugs were reaching they sell by dates. I actually laughed as I was so shocked by the sheer stupidity of it. (I hope that makes sense - I didn't find it funny, I just can't get my head around it)

redshoeblueshoe · 12/07/2017 19:48

Bore is that tonight ?

Libitina · 12/07/2017 19:49

They've started to provide end of life care.. without telling his parents

Looks like they are trying to make him worse

Yes and don't forget theycan write whatever they want in his hospital records! .. they can make it look in his notes that his head had not grown.

These are all comments from the same person who states that she works in an NHS pharmacy. I've sent screenshots to her trust so they can deal with her as they see fit.

Ta1kinPeace · 12/07/2017 19:49

I do vaguely wonder what "palliative care" will actually mean in this instance.
He's already on a ventilator and morphine and goodness knows what else.
If the ventilator is switched off he will die before they finish removing the tubes.
But at least then his parent can give him one last quiet cuddle - hopefully with no cameras present.

CaveMum · 12/07/2017 19:51

That's right redshoeblueshoe: the drug manufacturing company in the UK is refusing to sell any more drugs to the US (they were unaware that their products were being used as part of the lethal injection cocktail). So stocks are running low and those that they do have are almost out of date.

GabsAlot · 12/07/2017 19:54

@somedyke

lovely posts sostenueto and lougle
for Charlie Flowers

Lelloteddy · 12/07/2017 20:05

Takin1peace my concern is that if the parents don't a accept the inevitable decision, and if CA ( and particular the aunt) continue to whip up an absolute frenzy) then there is a real risk that they won't be allowed to be with him when life support is withdrawn.

redshoeblueshoe · 12/07/2017 20:05

And to echo what Punnet says, although I'm not paeds, I remember vividly the case of EVERY patient whose life support has been withdrawn. An impact so profound that it stays with you throughout your career. I cannot imagine what the staff at GOSH are feeling right now.

GabsAlot · 12/07/2017 20:08

@punnetsquare lots of respect for you and your colleagues
