To think this song can't be serious. Please tell me it was created as a joke?

Just came across this song and video on my youtube. Apparently it reached number 1!

I'm traumatised from just watching it!

It was meant as a joke surely?

I saw Peder Andre singing live before he had kids he really loves
He was topless, orange and oily.

RinonaWyder · 10/07/2017 22:49

No idea who sang this but does anyone remember a song that went 'touch me touch me with your madness thing, touch me touch me, make me swing'. Also had some random line about sucking on a curly wurly Confused A friend of mine really liked this song!

KeiraKnightleyActsWithHerTeeth · 10/07/2017 22:49

Does anyone remember Walking in Memphis? "Are you a Christian child? MAAAAN I am TONIGHT"

Lexilooo · 10/07/2017 22:49

Upyourdaisy

Gingernaut am Grin at No Limits assisting you in serious medical research!

I've just gone down a Sneaker Pimps/Portishead/Massive Attack rabbit hole. It was really enjoyable until somehow Shed Seven slipped through the YouTube net Hmm

"I fight like me da aswell". Love it.
The twins are sisters of Shane Lynch of boyzone.

I was born towards the end of the year that came out and thankfully hadn't heard of this or most of the other songs mentioned on this Blush and from googling them it said B*witched are Irish and I'm Irish and didn't know of them! Grin

I'm just grateful that I like the music that's popular nowadays even though I'll probably end up hating it in years to come Wink Grin

MimsyBorogroves · 10/07/2017 22:53

At the time, I hated 90s cheese. I was a total Britpop kid.

Now I've watched most of these with a big grin on my face. SHAMPOO!

KeiraKnightleyActsWithHerTeeth · 10/07/2017 22:53

I've found a playlist called local radio in the nineties and now dancing around my dining room with my smallest dog.

This was a great song to listen to whilst drinking some 20/20 and putting more eyeliner on.

ScrambledSmegs · 10/07/2017 22:53

The Shirehorses did a good piss-take of Kula Shaka's Tatva

Ta La

DogStrummer · 10/07/2017 22:54

Ah, some great tunes on this thread.

Remember this used to crop up quite a bit in the clubs when I was at Uni.

HoosierDaddy · 10/07/2017 22:54

LilaBard

For anyone Irish I have two words: Maniac 2000

DontTouchTheMoustache · 10/07/2017 22:55

Omg can.someone PLEASE make me a Spotify playlist from this thread.

OP you need to wash your mouth out

KickAssAngel · 10/07/2017 22:55

SO glad that someone put in 2Unlimited - DH and I saw them live at a nightclub in York just as we started dating. We've been married 25 years now!

A bit more recent, but I love this song:

OlennasWimple · 10/07/2017 22:55

Scrambled - I'd completely forgotten the Shirehorses! (Saw them in concert once....)

I also saw Spiders play live - what happened to them? And Chesney Hawkes (though he really did only have one good song)

KeiraKnightleyActsWithHerTeeth · 10/07/2017 22:56

Shit I've just remember OTT thank you, Christ that has taken me back!

Largebucket · 10/07/2017 22:57

Sunday thank you! I never saw it again and there was the other video (was she all stripey-topped?) so started to think I'd made it up.

Anyone remember Weird Al Yankovic?

RedGrapeCornSnake · 10/07/2017 22:57

Only watched a few videos but I'm desperate to buy some combats and a vest top now and have a dance! I'll be back in the morning to steal some more ideas! Poor OP doesn't know what she's started!

ScrambledSmegs · 10/07/2017 22:58

Mimsy me too. Wouldn't have caught me dead dancing to any of this - although I was more rock/indie than britpop.

I did like all the woman-fronted indie bands we had though. Echobelly, Elastica, Sleeper, Garbage, even Republica. They always looked like they didn't give a fuck - except in retrospect they were rather glam. Oh well, young me thought they were cool.

InigoTaran · 10/07/2017 22:58

This is THE WORST SONG EVER! It was in the seventies and was called 'Leap up and down and wave your knickers in the air'. Prepare to be gobsmacked ....
