When he was 8 weeks old

LapinR0se · 10/07/2017 19:24

Sorry that was to 1122aa

thatdearoctopus · 10/07/2017 19:24

11122aa Roundabout when he was due his first jabs. He was failing to thrive. How long it took to diagnose him, though, is less clear. Can't have been quick, I shouldn't have thought, if it's such a rare condition.

Maudlinmaud · 10/07/2017 19:26

11122aa he was very small, parents noticed he was less sturdy that other babies at a parenting class(?) Something about not holding up his head properly. By the time they where due to have his first vaccines at 8 weeks he was under the care of doctors.

GabsAlot · 10/07/2017 19:26

th news reported the judge wants charlies head measured to do comparisons

will that change anything though?

11122aa · 10/07/2017 19:26

Thanks.

CaveMum · 10/07/2017 19:26

I think they said he's been in hospital since November, so would have been around 4 months old then. That's assuming they had diagnosed him by the time he was admitted.

From The Guardian:

"US pastor campaigning for Charlie Gard has history of publicity stunts"

You don't say?!

Comparing moving a child to a rooftop garden where there are emergency teams on standby, probably extra medical and nursing staff just for transfer and all the equipment available to moving a child thousands of miles by plane with only minimal medical and nursing staff and no chance of support, plus the fact that if something was to happen en route, you've also got his parents to deal with, is ridiculous. Yes, her can be "moved", but at what risk?

Lexieblue · 10/07/2017 19:27

I think it's frightening the lengths CA are suggesting they go to...jeremy Kyle?! Where is the dignity in that??I have no criticism of the judge today I thought he was magnificent in the face of unprecedented circumstances; but would have liked maybe a small comment on the legalities of calling an entire NHS hospital murderers. Just a little warning to keep things sane at least

Quartz2208 · 10/07/2017 19:29

@skintasaskintthing don't confused removal of life support with actually causing death

Sometimes loving someone means letting them go, to stop their pain and suffering

Rachel0Greep · 10/07/2017 19:30

I just can't fathom the level of stupidity of the so-called CA. Why do they think GOSH, a well known, well respected hospital, would be going to the lengths their fevered imagination describes..!

Lemonading · 10/07/2017 19:31

Anyone watching C4 News? The 10% chance of improvement claim was repeated.

GabsAlot · 10/07/2017 19:31

hes been arrested as well witch-nothing but a fame hound

nina2b · 10/07/2017 19:32

This is sick.

11122aa · 10/07/2017 19:32

Who said it.

Saucery · 10/07/2017 19:32

Channel 4 News not holding back with allowing comments on the 'circus'.
Family member in US 'reached out' to the pro life lobby, according to their spokesperson.

Ollivander84 · 10/07/2017 19:32

Some things cannot be cured. I have three conditions that are all incurable. Not life threatening luckily but they're fairly rare. The NHS do make mistakes, one of mine wasn't spotted for a long time but they've saved my life over and over again
When I was born premature they saved me
When I was diagnosed as autoimmune neutropenia they saved me
When I had emergency spinal surgery they saved me

I read on FB in groups for my conditions about the drug I'm on, and in America it's about $5000 before you can even start on it. I believe here it's roughly £100 per injection. I pay nothing, I see a great haematologist every 12 weeks and collect my 12 injections
When I turned up at a&e, they gave me an MRI, woke up a neurosurgeon, operated, gave me a private room, fed me, arranged physio....

And yet they say the hospital want to kill him Sad

madamginger · 10/07/2017 19:34

I'm watching the c4 news. That Dr put that pro-lifer in her place didn't she?

Lemonading · 10/07/2017 19:35

A pro-life American woman who has come over to support the family.

GabsAlot · 10/07/2017 19:36

its about time somone did

GabsAlot · 10/07/2017 19:37

what do ths americans know and i mean the pastor an pro lifer theyre just out for thmselves spouting rubbish they know nothing of the case

11122aa · 10/07/2017 19:39

Thanks.

JaneEyre70 · 10/07/2017 19:49

I still can't get my head round the parents waiting to delay until the end of July. That tells me that there is no new evidence at all, and all of this will merely be clutching at straws. And I hope they are dealt with accordingly by the Judge. This has gotten way out of control.

MrGrumpy01 · 10/07/2017 19:54

In terms of the 10% I'm sure I read on here that the mum had said it has a 1 in 10 000 chance 'so 10%' and no one corrected her.

If that is true the person who first let her draw such a massive error should be ashamed of themselves.
