Theres a CA rally at GOSH planned for tomorrow. What are these people on?

What would possess a parent to smile in that sort of a photo?

This has become a farce. Charlie's parents cannot be trusted to do the right thing. The doctors need to do it.

Surely they should be making the most of the time they have left with Charlie? I'm getting increasingly uncomfortable with the photos and publicity. Just spend some private time with your terminally ill child fgs!

The 'here I am' comment from the Pastor seems so odd. Clearly he is just another stupid twat getting on the Connie bandwagon. This is becoming less and less about poor little Charlie. Do hope the judge puts a stop to all this nonsense on Monday.

My dd was an in-patient at GOSH a few years back. There was another child on the ward (not HDU) who was attracting, let's say, a lot of attention - huge numbers of people (mainly relatives) attending and congregating in the parents' room, closing the doors and making it difficult for the rest of us to use it. I didn't know the details of the situation and I suppose it was none of my business. There was clearly a difficult situation happening BUT.... I have to say that it made our experience of dealing with our own family crisis at the time that much harder to deal with.

The parents have hired a terrible, terrible publicist. All the photos are copyrighted to 'FeaturesWorld' which is her company

This means 2 things.

1. they are hiring a photographer to take these photos and releasing them to the media
2. by doing so, they own the copyright and therefore can charge each and every time anyone uses a photo

It makes me even more suspicious of the parents motives for stringing this whole thing on and on

Google FeatureWorld if you want to see the scummy stuff they usually flog to the papers - it's all the 'love rat waiter' true life stories in Take a Break and the like.
Y'know, just the sort of person you would use if you wanted to raise awareness of a serious disease and not because you wanted to make a quick buck selling your misery story...

I find this whole situation deeply troubling for many reasons, but I have to say I'm increasingly shocked by the photographs. Especially the more recent ones, in which as others have already said, Charlie is increasingly bloated and swollen which seems to indicate organ failure, but also because his parents are looking at the camera and not at their poor child!

Charlie is there as a prop.

Seeingadistance, I agree, but why is he their prop? for what. finacial gain? because even though they have been offered free treatement they still carry on fundraising, even though they inited the pastor over here they could be arrsed paying him out of their 2 million, so is that what it is all about? Or is it for them to be in the limelight??? to be rich and famous? because after all where is Charlie in all this????

What is this thing about trying to make him a US citizen? Does anyone understand that? I presume it would be so he can't be made to stay in this country but still doesn't make sense to me

CA are now sharing photos of various world monuments "lit up blue for Charlie". Photos like this freely available, easily googled picture of the leaning tower of Pisa

Last week the parents released a video saying they wanted more time to say goodbye and how family members couldn't be there in such short notice.
How did we get to this point? How in God's name did it ever get to this point?
I wonder if the posters on these threads(myself included) are really in the minority with their feelings. From what I've seen land marks around the world are being lit up blue.

Ok I'm piling in with a slightly different viewpoint.

I think very few parents would use their desperately ill child for personal gain.

I also think it would be easy to lose sight of what's best for the child in desperation

I think this sad case is the UK version of the equally sad and bizarre Jahi McMath saga.

Just reading the thread and saw the photos from yesterday. Charlie looks awful and the parents are smiling? Doesn't make sense. I get that their emotions must be everywhere and they're clinging on to hope but to see your child like that..... I cannot comprehend what the parents are thinking and doing at this time

Things like the ashya king case and hillsborough show that both doctors get it wrong sometimes and conspiracies happen sometimes.

Not suggesting that's the case here but I can understand where the distrust comes from.

maudlin, there's an image of the Christ the Redeemer statue in Rio de Janeiro being posted by the army. It's lit up blue. I know for a fact that it - and several other key landmarks around the world - were lit up blue for autism two years ago.

There are no grounds for Charlie to be granted US citizenship and I can't see that Trump would consider Charlie worth having a diplomatic row over, especially since he's gone quiet since his meeting with TM at the G20. Also, if Charlie is made a ward of court he won't be allowed to leave the jurisdiction. It seems high time he was made a ward of court, given the terrible state he looks to be in. Poor thing, it's shocking to see those pictures.
