To let Dd wear a suit ?

All her cousins will be in dress. She's girly in the way that she likes to have her eyebrows dimensions ,nails painted and she would usually wear a dress if she had to .

Aibu to dash out last minute and find a suit for Dsisters wedding ?

(Where can I get one btw,she likes one like cara delavigne. Can only find low cut ones that are worn without a shirt )

To let Dd wear a suit ?

Unfortunately nothing stops the Daily Mail not when it comes to wedding threads.
Loose Women love a wedding thread too.

She'll look fab! Good luck finding something.

Summerswallow · 08/07/2017 10:12

Suits are much harder to buy than a dress. I'd head to Debenhams and try to get a dress with some of the colours of the other dress in it. Or as someone said, a jumpsuit. There are not a huge amount of suits for 15 year old's out there, it's not a look many of them go for except at the high fashion end! Although I agree it would look ace.

MineKraftCheese · 08/07/2017 10:15

I like wearing suits too, your DD sounds ace.

I would try Zara, Mango, H&M, New Look, River Island, Warehouse.

I think brogues can look lovely too. I am a similar size/shape to your DD and often wear suits with flat brogues to formal dress occasions. I usually get from Dune.

MusicForTheJiltedGeneration · 08/07/2017 10:17

For the poster saying that a suit might look a "bit gay" the OP didn't state her sister was marrying a man!

Good luck with the suit hunt OP and I hope your sister has a lovely wedding Flowers

CrispPacket · 08/07/2017 10:17

Hope you find something lovely OP Grin

MsHopey · 08/07/2017 10:17

I definitely want to see the outfit when you've finished the hunt!!!

milkysmum · 08/07/2017 10:37

Good luck - I think a suit will luck fabulous!

Rossigigi · 08/07/2017 10:44

Please post a picture when you e finished!

Thishatisnotmine · 08/07/2017 10:58

Stores like COS etc in that kind of price range do silk cotton vests which would look lovely. And cool for the summer!

Branleuse · 08/07/2017 11:03

She will look great!

yorkshapudding · 08/07/2017 11:12

Finding a suit to fit a petite 15 yo is going to be tough imo.

There are lots of really nice tailored jumpsuits about at the moment though. She could wear one with a statement necklace to dress it up a bit. Plus they're a bit more summery, she'll be sweltering in a suit in this weather!

LassWiTheDelicateAir · 08/07/2017 11:14

Why the fuck should she wear a "camisole" underwear because she's a girl!??

I used to have a black dinner suit cut for a woman (think St. Laurent's "Le Smoking" suits) I wore it with a white , double cuffed woman's shirt from Thomas Pink with cufflinks and either a bow tie or a floppy pussy cat bow.

It was the shirt and tie/ bow which made the look. With a camisole it would just have been a woman 's trouser suit.

MayorOfOz · 08/07/2017 11:16

If she wants to wear a suit I would totally support her decision. And if that includes her choosing a shirt/tie/brogues then I'd go with that too. Stuff gender stereotypes! She should wear what she feels comfortable in.

LassWiTheDelicateAir · 08/07/2017 11:21

I'd say don't wear a camisole its a bit 00's tbh get a shirt buttoned high with a massive statement necklace

Agree - a nice camisole under a suit jacket is boring and dull.

MineKraftCheese · 08/07/2017 11:22

@LassWiTheDelicateAir My ultimate dream in life is to own a Le Smoking suit. Would have worn one for my wedding if I could have afforded it Envy

MaryTheCanary · 08/07/2017 12:19

A suit is fine, assuming it's a quiet-looking suit that blends in either with the suits worn by the groomsmen or with the bridesmaids' dress colors.

Certainly, the focus should be on the bride and groom at a wedding. No reason that can't happen with a sensible suit. I don't think it's inherently attention-seeking for a woman to wear a suit!

Keepthebloodynoisedown · 08/07/2017 12:28

One of my best friends never wears skirts or dresses, so I've said that she's welcome to wear a suit to my wedding.

Keepthebloodynoisedown · 08/07/2017 12:29

Just want to point out that she's a bridesmaid, and I'm not a massive bridesilla that's dictating what guests can wear.

hopsalong · 08/07/2017 12:34

Not sure if the colour of this is a little too light / close to white, but for a summer wedding on a very hot day I think this Zara linen suit would be great (complete with sandals as styled, maybe?) and fit would be excellent on a petite 15 year old (smallest size is very small).

RadioGaGoo · 08/07/2017 12:43

Oh that Jumpsuit idea for a wedding is fantastic! I went to a wedding where all the bridesmaids wore matching jumpsuits and they looked phenomenal!

TheFlyingFauxPas · 08/07/2017 12:53

Remember that girl in the young apprentice in her suit. Think it as blue and a bit sailor shirt. Slightly cropped trousers. She looked great.

LassWiTheDelicateAir · 08/07/2017 13:41

Hopsalong I think that looks fine.

With a black suit I think the coloured camisole idea looks really naff ( you need the contrast of a formal white shirt) but that suit could be worn with say a silk t-shirt/ ott necklace

silkpyjamasallday · 08/07/2017 13:55

I think going for a silky camisole that picks out a colour in the bridesmaids dresses is infinitely better than a white shirt with a big necklace, I personally think that's a quite dated and ageing look I don't know any 15 year olds who would go for that.

Also as it is summer she will more than likely take the jacket off, and in a white shirt and dark trousers she will look like catering staff, add in flat shoes and it is almost a given she will be mistaken for one. A camisole will not look odd without the jacket and will look on the dressier side of smart than a shirt which could just look officewear smart.

ememem84 · 08/07/2017 14:01

Skinny cigarette pants and pointed flats would look awesome. I'd personally go for some sort of high necked Sleeveless Blouse and see if you could find a cummerbund to match bridesmaids dresses.
