All her cousins will be in dress. She's girly in the way that she likes to have her eyebrows dimensions ,nails painted and she would usually wear a dress if she had to .

Aibu to dash out last minute and find a suit for Dsisters wedding ?

(Where can I get one btw,she likes one like cara delavigne. Can only find low cut ones that are worn without a shirt )

To let Dd wear a suit ?

Yeah tbh if the pre bought dress doesnt fit is there anything that can be done witha needle and thread for the actual ceremony. Then she can wear what ever she wants for the reception. Youll be very very hard pushed to find a decent suit that fits and looks smart and classy in 4 hours.
Why wasnt there a back up plan?
To the poster who said a trouser suit on a woman at a wedding is gay please fuck of.

Chillyegg · 08/07/2017 09:47

Open toe flat gladiator sandle.
Zara or h&m or topshop for suit

Sparklingbrook · 08/07/2017 09:47

Good luck with the shopping. I think you are going to need it.

FizzyCherry · 08/07/2017 09:47

You could try Next maybe, M and S or even some of the supermarkets? Lots of sixth formers wear suits now so they might have some in their "back to school even though they haven't broken up yet" range?
Given the short notice I think you might have to settle for smart and the right size rather than fancy detail.

Trills · 08/07/2017 09:50

Some nice brogues?
Or a sparkly ballet flat?

MrsOverTheRoad · 08/07/2017 09:51

Why the fuck should she wear a "camisole" underwear because she's a girl!??

Can't believe people saying that.

YANBU OP.

JessieMcJessie · 08/07/2017 09:51

Your sister sounds lovely! Hope you find her something fab.

Trills · 08/07/2017 09:51

You keep saying you have 4 hours.

She is going with you, right?

JessieMcJessie · 08/07/2017 09:51

Find your DD a fan suit I mean!

JessieMcJessie · 08/07/2017 09:52

*fab!

I'll stop now...

Trills · 08/07/2017 09:53

She doesn't have to wear a camisole, it's just an option that would look nice, and removes the question of a tie/cravat. And it's not underwear. Maybe we are using the word to mean different things.

Sparklingbrook · 08/07/2017 09:55

Yes camisoles aren't really like underwear more of a sleeveless strappy vest top. Well to me that's what they are.

Having not had the chance to try the dress on it may have been wise to have a Plan B sooner.

Rossigigi · 08/07/2017 09:55

I say find a nice suite! If that's what she's wants to wear and the bride and groom are happy then go for it, better than her be upset in a dress that doesn't fit well. With her size she will look ace- bang on trend as well

Wine hope you can find one fingers crossed and hope you have a brilliant day!

NanooCov · 08/07/2017 09:57

Definitely not sandals with a suit. Will look awful, particularly if flat. Ballet flats will be fine. You might even find some in the wedding colour if you can't find a top of some sort in the right colour. Any sort of vest/cami would look fine under a nice suit.

Rossigigi · 08/07/2017 09:57

PP I say camisole as many suites are low cut to show of the breast- not something appropriate for a teen at a wedding. Plus my view of a cami is a silky top I have a nice Karen Millen one that's designed as a top not underwear.

Rossigigi · 08/07/2017 09:58

And I may differ here too as I say go for strapped sandles to complete the look not flats......

Chillyegg · 08/07/2017 09:59

Id say don't wear a camisole its a bit 00's tbh get a shirt buttoned high with a massive statement necklace

OnTheRise · 08/07/2017 09:59

Shoes she likes and is comfortable in. Heels are the devil's work.

Rossigigi · 08/07/2017 09:59

How about a low heel could she manage that?

Sparklingbrook · 08/07/2017 10:00

Just realised this is a wedding thread. Therefore the Daily Mail will be sharpening their pencils furiously. Look forward to the Femail article entitled 'Would YOU let a bridesmaid wear a suit?' Hmm

Rossigigi · 08/07/2017 10:01

If you can not find a cami to match could you take a section out of the dress and stitch it in to the neck line? Would only need a small section......

ThaliaLuxurySpa · 08/07/2017 10:10

Sparkling,

"Therefore the Daily Mail will be sharpening their pencils furiously."

Fail hacks use pens filled with green ink and moral outrage, surely?

DanceMam · 08/07/2017 10:10

Thank you everyone . You've all be helpful . The shopping has begun !

And before the daily mail turn this thread into an article . Fuck you Daily Fail!

A well fitting suit for a slim 15 year old is probably going to be difficult to find at short notice plus something suitable to wear underneath that doesn't look like she's on her way to a job interview.

A jumpsuit might be better, it'll still give her that tailored / androgynous but feminine look she's after. New Look have some nice ones in if theres a decent sized store near you and they have loads of colours so you should find one to suit the wedding party.

Yes to zara or h and m given she's only 15. I got this from h and m - is nice modern shape and do a few colours. Skinny cigarette-type trousers look nice with cami underneath. m2.hm.com/m/en_gb/productpage.0459134001.html#Black
