AIBU to think that thousands of people loving charlie and bradley is some what false.

I know exactly what It is like to have a poorly child same as hundreds more parents in the uk.
Set aside my belief that I believe that bradley has very little dignity and both him and charlie are now used as some weird sort of click bait.

The supporters I do not understand it ?

We love you, we are heart broken and we will miss you.

Now I get empathy but this is not empathy this is media posts just gone crazy to write the most heart breaking post they can.
I wish neither of these children would have to lose their life and can undetstand the parents pain just like the rest of the terminally ill children in this country.

You can feel sad that these things happen but this just seems weird and could not imagine allowing a nation of people watching my child pass away.

I mean how many of them 2 years from now will wake up on the morning of their anniversary and automatically remember them ?

That would be funny if it wasn't so tragic.

hackmum · 05/07/2017 10:20

I never thought the day would come when I agreed with an article by Jan Moir.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 05/07/2017 10:23

About the Supreme Court's remark concerning a "stay" until 10 July ... I thought this has gone to the ECHR afterwards?

All the legalese is above my head, but will that have made any difference (in other words, will anything the ECHR said have overruled the Supreme Court)?

Come to that, I've not been able to find the ECHR's judgement in writing and don't know exactly what that judgement is, beyond effectively saying "we can't change this". So is the 10th July limit still in operation or not?? Confused

Puzzledandpissedoff · 05/07/2017 10:27

I think the date in that article is more about giving the EctHR time to make a decision within a set time frame, rather than a final date

Cross posted with you ... yes, I guess that would make sense, and would also explain why we've not heard more about this "10th July" before now

Seeingadistance · 05/07/2017 10:30

I thought the stay till 10th July was set to give time for the case to be considered by the European Court. They were able to make a decision well within that time frame, but maybe the parents' legal team are arguing that nothing should happen now until that date.

MommaGee · 05/07/2017 10:38

Ok possiy stupid question but if the hospital think he's in pain and there'scenough medical information to suggest he's in pain, why ISN'T he on pain meds?

JonSnowsWhore · 05/07/2017 10:40

Momma gee is it not because he is sedated instead? I could be wrong

Lonelymummyof1 · 05/07/2017 10:45

Its just painfully stupid- he does have brain damage.
They are literally uneducated arseholes who are now just winding me up.

Well sorry lonely for such a stupid question.

Lonelymummyof1 · 05/07/2017 10:47

Mommagee GOSH can not defend or say what he is receiving.

Do not think he is actually sedated though or fully sedated as they talk about him having no sleep cycle , responses etc they would only know that if he was not sedated x

Mommagee sorry that stupid was not aimed at you 😂😂

MommaGee · 05/07/2017 10:48

JSWhore I'm not that clear on the difference tbh. DS was on morphine as a sedative and painkiller so if consider that he was on pain killers iyswim. He's also just been on morphine and ketamine for pain. I guess there was other stuff in the mix to sedate him but would seem clearer to state he's sedated for pain relief. Not that GOSH need to explain themselves

Lonelymummyof1 · 05/07/2017 10:49

I was referring to CA being " painfully stupid " sorry Flowers

Aha did think it was a bit harsh lol

JonSnowsWhore · 05/07/2017 10:49

Of course, GOSH can't say anything so we only have other peoples words to go on, & yes you're right about the sedation, I must have heard that wrong somewhere, god knows where I got that from then!

Lonelymummyof1 · 05/07/2017 10:53

I also think the parents would not help with twisted comments he probably is on some sort of morphine for a level of sedation, however that will be only claiming this as sedation not pain relief a bit like the MRI info

OP posts:
MommaGee · 05/07/2017 10:58

I'd (blindly) have assumed he'd need some level of pain relief / sedation for being on the vent. I don't know, its an assumption. DS only been on a vent as a neonate or because his abdomen was left open inbetween surgeries.

I was working on the hope that Theresa issuing a statement of support / not eligible o challenge it might shut up the "lets all message TM, the Queen, the Cambridge's etx

JaneEyre70 · 05/07/2017 11:03

I would assume that someone with a severe amount of brain damage like Charlie wouldn't need any pain relief, I think the family are right ( in the wrong way) that he isn't in pain as his brain receptors wouldn't be registering pain? I would imagine morphine/ketamine is to control the fitting/seizues Sad. It's too horrid to even really think about, poor baby Sad

Amd724 · 05/07/2017 11:09

I've read the entire thread, and I must say I'm just disgusted at how far this whole Charlie Gard thing has gone. I feel bad for the parents, but I'm quickly losing sympathy, and it pains me to say this. I cannot say exactly what I would or wouldn't do, but I'd hope I'd have people around me who would say, stop its enough, he needs to go peacefully. I wish they'd stop with this madness, and let the hospital do its work.

I don't want to be rude, but I just had the hardest time trying to decipher what Kat was trying to say. FFS, punctuation is your friend.

Back on topic: I've seen that often, and its incredibly disgusting to say. They're spending too much money so they kill the child?!?

mydogisthebest · 05/07/2017 11:15

I may be being thick here but I thought the parents had exhausted all avenues of Charlie being kept alive. Weren't GOSH meant to be switching off the life support last Friday but agreed to extend it for a few days so the family could say their goodbyes?

Why are people now saying the date is the 10th July?

MommaGee · 05/07/2017 11:16

I'm sure the parents on this thread whose kiddies have been in hospital over a year would dispute the care bill argument. Also surely sending him home a few weeks ago would be cheaper than this?

MommaGee · 05/07/2017 11:18

There's something in one of the decisions about July 10th. But possibly for a final decision not to turn the machines off

JaneEyre70 · 05/07/2017 11:21

The comments on This Morning's fb page are just awful........someone actually said GOSH should admit they don't know what they are doing, and should let the American Doctors take over. The ignorance is astounding.
