AIBU to think that thousands of people loving charlie and bradley is some what false.

Lonelymummyof1 · 01/07/2017 07:29

I know exactly what It is like to have a poorly child same as hundreds more parents in the uk.
Set aside my belief that I believe that bradley has very little dignity and both him and charlie are now used as some weird sort of click bait.

The supporters I do not understand it ?

We love you, we are heart broken and we will miss you.

Now I get empathy but this is not empathy this is media posts just gone crazy to write the most heart breaking post they can.
I wish neither of these children would have to lose their life and can undetstand the parents pain just like the rest of the terminally ill children in this country.

You can feel sad that these things happen but this just seems weird and could not imagine allowing a nation of people watching my child pass away.

I mean how many of them 2 years from now will wake up on the morning of their anniversary and automatically remember them ?

Completely agree with you OP. It's very exploitative and in poor taste.

I really hate social media sometimes Sad

MommaGee · 03/07/2017 13:24

On the CA page now they're tweeting Donald trump and his family because "he's a good man and he can put pressure on theresa may" holy flipping cow, if he's the definition of a good man shoot me now.

I have no idea how people in America pay the hospital bills for children this poorly. I assume is have cashed in my husband for parts and exchange by now if BCH charged

annandale · 03/07/2017 14:33

Donald Trump? Oh that'll help. If this case gets used in some distorted way to help pass the Trumpcare bill, the 'Army' will not only have significantly increased the stress on people doing particularly difficult jobs, they will also have assisted in the removal of actual treatment from children in other countries. Great job.

That said, wouldn't at least some of this treatment be covered by Medicare in the states?

LogicalPsycho · 03/07/2017 15:41

Because this will help. Way to go, this has hit a whole new level of stupid.

Some of the most emotional hysterical voices of Charlie's Army will be convinced that a foreign President can overturn the High Court of another country.

It will probably be all over certain pages as 'fresh hope', which in the long run is going to cause even worse heartache for his parents.

AIBU to think that thousands of people loving charlie and bradley is some what false.
alpacasandwich · 03/07/2017 15:42

An aunt is posting in the CA group and encouraging all of this.

Scrumpernickel · 03/07/2017 15:52

Donald fucking Trump.

The whole thing has become so fevered and ridiculous. And self indulgent. Let the poor child die in peace you vultures.

NerrSnerr · 03/07/2017 15:53

I can't get my head around how bonkers this is, they're excited because the Pope and Trump have tweeted. The CA is beyond stupid and I can't see anyone there who is posting anything sensible- it's all about those MRI results, getting him to America and people who know doctors asking them to get involved. None of them have read the court reports it seems.

There is a baby who is probably still suffering because of this circus.

MissHavishamsleftdaffodil · 03/07/2017 15:53

Bloody Trump has tweeted that he'll be 'glad to help' Charlie. ....

I'm guessing he has a magic wand and can reverse mitochondrial failure then? Angry That poor family, his casual stupidity's just added to their hell because there's now yet more false hope. Its a wicked thing to casually spit out on twitter!

That poor child is going to end up dragged out there and put through God only knows what until medical science can no longer force his body to stop dying.

STUPID BLOODY MAN. Angry

Lonelymummyof1 · 03/07/2017 15:53

I am deactivating my facebook.
I do not think I even want to call half my friends, friends anymore.

Unless they have amazing health cover as a family new borns don't know even get treatment in the US because they don't have cover
I read a very sad article about the babies who have very treatable heart conditions but die because they were not born with health insurance

EB123 · 03/07/2017 15:57

That poor baby, it seems to be forgotten by all of these idiots that there is actually a baby at the centre of this. What a circus.

Scrumpernickel · 03/07/2017 15:57

Yes the irony of Trump offering to help Charlie Gard when he and and the GOP are making it their life's mission to remove affordable health care from the American working classes.

MommaGee · 03/07/2017 15:59

That poor child is going to end up dragged out there and put through God only knows what until medical science can no longer force his body to stop dying
I honestly don't think the hospital will given their legal backing and they can't surreptitiously leave with him. I also doubt his body would survive the trauma. Its incredibly hard on the body to do the kind of transfer he'd need even to get to the airport. Which makes it crueler because it really is false hope

Ellie56 · 03/07/2017 15:59

That poor child is going to end up dragged out there and put through God only knows what until medical science can no longer force his body to stop dying.

But in truth he is already dead. It is only machines (courtesy of GOSH ) that are keeping him "alive".

MissHavishamsleftdaffodil · 03/07/2017 16:03

It is unbelievably cruel to that family. I'm so angry he's tossed them this casual false hope.

annandale · 03/07/2017 16:07

I guess it was inevitable that someone was going to think of Trump, and that criminal, wicked, vain and ignorant man would actually tweet about it.

SerfTerf · 03/07/2017 16:08

TBF, they're demanding casual false hope.

There's a grim inevitability to this farcical downward spiral.

Nobody in the public domain is going to have frank words with the poor parents. Someone close to them should be doing it.

The parents are entitled to search out any type of hope though, they're heartbroken. Responsible adults shouldn't be giving it falsely. And that's the problem - Trump shouldn't be allowed his own social media

Amd724 · 03/07/2017 16:25

Trump probably didn't even know the case behind this, and has no idea what he's talking about. He just saw it as a way to make himself look good, without understanding anything about it. What a self-serving idiot.

MommaGee · 03/07/2017 16:28

Well that is his strategy for president

Twodogsandahooch · 03/07/2017 16:29

There was a group of Charlie's Army protesters in our town today chanting 'save Charlie Gard'. It's a dreadfully sad situation but god knows what they hoped to achieve.

MissHavishamsleftdaffodil · 03/07/2017 16:30

I'll bet the Foreign Office are in need of chocolate, kittens and a lot of coffee about now.

mydogisthebest · 03/07/2017 16:30

I cannot believe Trump is now getting involved in this.

Just when is poor Charlie going to be allowed to go and be at peace? Keep dragging it on day after day is just cruel

MommaGee · 03/07/2017 16:34

God knows what they'll all do when he does die. Until they move on to the next thing
