When I left Conference Room for short meetings with Japan and other countries, I asked Ivanka to hold seat. Very standard. Angela M agrees!

Standard?

Was anyone going to steal it?

Does she agree?

You have to remember that he doesn't really like Donald Jr. Or Eric. Smile

OnTheDarkSideOfTheSpoon · 10/07/2017 14:00

I wonder what cat he'll inadvertently let out of the bag in trying to make the Don Jr/Russian lawyer meeting pushed so far down the agenda that it's no longer discussed.

Obviously I'm the first person on a campaign to ever take a meeting to hear info about an opponent... went nowhere but had to listen.

Trump doesn't seem to be saving his son does he, yet defending Ivanka to the hilt.

This was on twitter this morning... he sounds like a vile Dad.

That Chelsea has inherited the best and savviest qualities of both of her parents! I do hope she decides to enter politics at some point down the line.

And I'm glad I wasn't the only one who read Scrotus' tweet in the voice of a 16 yr old Valley Girl. Next it'll be "my latest EO is totes amazeballs, you guys!"

And WTF is this with a 'beautiful' healthcare bill? Beautiful? That's an adjective I'm sure he's used to using regarding his hotels, golf courses, and other building projects and that's fine. But for a significant piece of legislation you'd think he'd use other, more dignified, words. They'd be lies, of course, but at least he'd sound less like a carnival barker or MLM marketer.

Conway got the short straw and is trying to convince everyone that the horse never bolted and it couldn't in any case becasue there was never a horse in the first place.

I think it's less about defending Ivanka and more about distracting everyone from Donald Jr.

I suspect he'll keep spitting out tweets until all everyone is talking about is the latest outrageous thing he said and not how his son (and possibly him) met up with a foreign adversary specifically to obtain dirt on their political rival.

I love Chelsea Clintin's riposte. It's kind of appalling that Trump tweeted again to justify putting Ivanka in his seat. Confused He really doesn't understand what being the President is all about.

AcrossthePond55 · 10/07/2017 16:26

I keep reading Trump as 'Turnip'.

Weelllll, Norbert, I wouldn't say that was exactly a 'misread'. More likely your subconscious mind screaming the truth about what he really is. But then that would be subconsciously read as 'Turnip-Head'.

Here's what we now know: on June 9th, 2016, Putin tried to get his kompromat ("blackmail file") on Clinton to Trump through an intermediary.

(2) What we don't know is if Don received the stolen property or told his dad—adding him to a criminal conspiracy with Kushner and Manafort.

(3) We can further surmise whoever (Manafort or Kushner) left after ten minutes may have done so because they realized a crime might occur.

(4) As to whether the party that fled was Kushner or Manafort, you decide for yourself which of the two you think would shrink from a crime.

(5) But we know a) Trump's son stayed; b) he received intel on Clinton; c) he seems to have hid the meeting from everyone but maybe his dad.

(6) Let's be clear: the man who set up the June 9 meeting with Trump's top aides, Aras Agalarov, had received the Order of Honor from Putin.

(7) A man that loyal to Russia—and specifically Putin—was not "freelancing" with Clinton kompromat in the middle of the American election.

(8) So the June 9, 2016 meeting at Trump Tower was a Trump-Putin meeting via proxies: Agalarov, Veselnitskaya, Trump Jr., Kushner, Manafort.

(9) Trump Sr. being IN TRUMP TOWER that day; what he was DOING there that day; the speech he WROTE that day suggest he KNEW of the meeting.

(10) Investigators must now suspect the June 9, 2016 meeting was a Trump-Putin meeting BOTH men knew about and sent their proxies to attend.

(11) Based on this new NYT story, if you're a journalist reporting on anything but this topic today you're missing the story of the century.

(12) And if you're a Republican thinking you can haughtily sniff at this story and walk away, you may want to hold you tongue a bit longer.

(13) And for god's sake, if you actually believe Putin sent an attorney with "vague, ambiguous, meaningless" Clinton kompromat you're loony.

(14) In fact, it seems whatever Natalia Veselnitskaya said in that room was SO "too hot to handle" it chased either Kushner or Manafort out.

(THREAD) Yes, yesterday's bombshell about a June 9, 2016 Trump campaign-Russia meeting DID prove Trump and associates colluded with Russia.

(THREAD) Yes, yesterday's bombshell about a June 9, 2016 Trump campaign-Russia meeting DID prove Trump and associates colluded with Russia.

  1. Pundits are now saying yesterday's news shows the Trump campaign was willing to—and wanted to—collude with Russia, but not that they DID.

  2. They misunderstand the law. They think if Don Jr.'s June '16 meeting with a Kremlin agent wasn't itself criminal, there was no collusion.

  3. Russia's cyberattack on us was an ongoing crime (actually, literally thousands of individual felonies) that stretched for 6+ months.

  4. Trump, to the best of our knowledge, learned of these ongoing thousands of crimes on August 17, 2017—when his security briefings began.

  5. A key element of these thousands of felonies stretching from June to Election Day and beyond was that they—AND their culprit—stay secret.

  6. An "Accessory After the Fact" doesn't participate in the crime itself, but after (a) learning of it, (b) participates in its concealment.

  7. Trump and his top aides were all legally ON NOTICE that Russia was engaging in thousands of felonies against America on August 17, 2017.

  8. After August 17, ANY act of concealment Trump's team KNEW would help keep Russia's thousands of felonies against us secret IS collusion.

  9. Trump's foreign policy chief—Sessions—had a secret September 8th meeting with a Russian agent he then perjured himself about? Collusion.

  10. Trump's top presidential advisor—Kushner—had multiple phone calls and meetings with Russians he illegally failed to disclose? Collusion.

  11. Trump personally tried to keep the FBI from further investigating Mike Flynn's contact with the Russians on sanctions? Also collusion.

  12. Manafort's lies after his firing? Collusion. Mike Flynn's lies? Collusion. Trump's lies about staffers' contact with Russia? Collusion.

  13. Trump Jr., Kushner, and Manafort hide that Russia had secretly-acquired Clinton intel in June 2016? Collusion, collusion, and collusion.

  14. Don Jr.'s story making it clear his dad KNEW about the June meeting? Collusion for both of them. Them lying about it now? Collusion too.

  15. And every time I've written "collusion" in this thread I'm saying CRIME—and the crime is, Accessory After the Fact to Russia's felonies.

  16. I keep explaining that THIS is why the media needs to nail down what Trump knew and when. And THIS is why Trump denies Russian hacking.

  17. The SECOND we know on what DATE Trump learned of Russia's crimes, EVERY lie he or his top aides told afterward is COLLUSION and a CRIME.

  18. THIS, then, is the explanation for our national mystery, i.e. why won't Trump ACCEPT the IC finding that Russia meddled in our election?

  19. Bad TV pundits claim it's because Trump doesn't want to lose his legitimacy. But if THAT were true, he'd deny that anyone hacked us.

  20. Instead, ALL Trump says—and says consistently—is that he PERSONALLY doesn't believe that the RUSSIANS committed thousands of felonies.

  21. In saying this, Trump—who's often been at risk of running afoul of criminal/civil statutes—protects himself from Accessory allegations.

  22. Doubt me? OK—play this game for a moment: Trump announces today that he knew Russia was hacking on August 17. What are the consequences?

  23. EVERY statement Trump made after August 17 would be scrutinized by the media and FBI: "Wait, if you already KNEW when you said this...!"

  24. And the name you're struggling to put to how WRONG those statements would suddenly be is called, "Accessory to Felonies After the Fact."

  25. And ALL the aides who had clearance to see what Trump was told on August 17 would be criminally liable—and colluders—for all THEIR lies.

PS) Until you hear a lawyer or journalist say a) "accessory," and b) "this is when Trump knew about hacking," IGNORE any collusion analysis.

PS2) Any instances of "August 2017" instead of "August 2016" in this thread are a typo. Apologies to all—it should always say "August 2016."
