I'm very interested to see what is going to come out of the DJT Jr. story. On the face of it, his statement is devastating:
What DJT Jr. appears to be saying is that he attended the Russian meeting because he was interested in damaging information on HRC and was no longer interested in taking things further once it turned out that this was not the case but that the purpose, instead, was to discuss adoption related topics.
This is obviously a potential bombshell. Just about the only way he could get out of this would be if he somehow managed to credibly claim that he had no reason to assume that the information he thought he might obtain was not from Russian sources. Which seems rather hard to argue given the circumstances.
Circumstantial evidence may also suggest that POTUS would have been in on it if Junior was. These kids appear to run basically every breath they take past daddy. Now this is obviously not in any way a water tight case, but things do seem to be heating up with this one.
Having said that, we're obviously talking about Teflon Don here, the man who was taped bragging about sexually assaulting women and still got elected president.
