I do wonder though if the summit was announced in Feb 2016, why the Americans hadn't made arrangements, well in advance of whoever was going to be POTUS 45.

Poor staffers. Someone's head will roll for this, and I suspect that it is so chaotic in the WH at present, things like this get overlooked by staff because of all the firefighting.

The footage of SCROTUS getting off that plane was just . Surely someone, somewhere will start to raise serious doubts on his mental capacity.

Meant to add: the irony of this then being used as a backdrop for what can only be described as a highly ideological speech with more than a hint of nationalism paired with the whole 'Western will to survive' line of thought really gives me the creeps. It's 'Western' jingoism that at the same time completely disregards the supposed core values of the so-called West and doesn't even seem to pay lip-service to the sort of (neo)liberalism that's normally part of the branding.

I spent some time in the Gaza Strip once during quite a hot phase as part of some corporate citizenship thing. This brand of populism isn't entirely distinguishable from the kind of populist propaganda I saw there. Chilling!

Scrotus' lies are simply 'legendary' at this point. How anyone with any modicum of sense can believe anything he says is beyond me. It's all lies and bombast. But it IS exactly what an unscrupulous businessperson would do to 'sell' whatever it is they were selling. If you substitute 'new Trump Hotel' or 'Trump University' in his speeches for his claims regarding healthcare or 'immigration you'll see that he's running true to form when it comes to pushing his deals on unsuspecting investors/buyers.

In the bottom left of that Poland crowd photo there is one of the Star Wars Roger Roger drones. I'll see if my tech abilities allow me to highlight it.
