gluteustothemaximus · 29/06/2017 16:37

He's like Miss Rabbit in Peppa Pig Grin

gluteustothemaximus · 29/06/2017 16:38

X post!!

ExplodedCloud · 29/06/2017 16:38

I expect he has a little 'pick me up' from time to time.

CrazedZombie · 29/06/2017 16:38

😂😂😂

CatWranglersAnonymous · 29/06/2017 16:44

One of the other honorary economics professors at the University of Manchester (George's shiny new role) is a former Goldman Sachs economist.

Between him and history graduate George, it's not too much of a stretch to work out who's more qualified to lecture on economics Hmm

As long as he's not taking time out from a publicly funded role (e.g. MP) he can have as many jobs as he likes.

Although I am starting to understand the root cause of the shortage of jobs in the UK ...

CatWranglersAnonymous · 29/06/2017 16:49

Lurking he's not exactly qualified to lecture undergraduates on economics.

I'm no fan of George but absolutely love how the Evening Standard has been covering May's shambolic government.

TulipsInAJug · 29/06/2017 17:08

Yes, I expect he has extra energy because of certain substances he consumes. Allegedly.

BigDeskBob · 29/06/2017 17:08

He's over compensating for not having the job he wants.

CatWranglersAnonymous · 29/06/2017 17:10

BigDesk what job does he want? Prime Minister? Why didn't he enter the Tory leadership contest last year then?

OP posts:
TulipsInAJug · 29/06/2017 17:15

Of course he wants to be PM. He's desperate to get back onto the front bench. He's made at Theresa for firing him and the sole reason he tool editorship of the ES was to use it as a platform to attack her.

He has recently said that austerity should be continued.

He is an odious, odious man.

TulipsInAJug · 29/06/2017 17:15

*mad

ExplodedCloud · 29/06/2017 17:16

Well he was running 5 other jobs when he was an MP.

CatWranglersAnonymous · 29/06/2017 17:18

Tulips he actually wanted to go into journalism long before entering politics, so the Evening Standard editorship is obviously a plum job that he couldn't pass up. And also, I just don't understand why - if he wants to be Prime Minister so much, which I accept he does - he didn't just enter last year's leadership contest?

OP posts:
CatWranglersAnonymous · 29/06/2017 17:19

Hahaha very true Exploded - he built up experience then Grin

OP posts:
ExplodedCloud · 29/06/2017 17:19

Whilst it's obviously been entertaining watching him sniping at TM from the sometimes, it does stick in my craw watching him slip away from any responsibility for his part in the multiple fuck ups he's helped create.

BigDeskBob · 29/06/2017 17:21

Because he didn't want to be the pm to deal with brexit. He may be lots of things, but he's smart enough to know its an impossible job. That's why they let a women do it.

CatWranglersAnonymous · 29/06/2017 17:23

Me too Exploded - funny how everything's worked out for him, isn't it?

Also, on a side-note, what's happened to David Cameron? Is he just giving speeches at events now? Or helping Sam Cam out with the childcare while she sets up her fashion label?

OP posts:
CatWranglersAnonymous · 29/06/2017 17:24

Ah yes good point BigDesk. So he's just biding his time until he can be re-elected as an MP in a couple of years' time?

OP posts:
ExplodedCloud · 29/06/2017 17:28

Shiny Dave is writing his memoirs in a shepherds hut in his Cotswolds garden.

TulipsInAJug · 29/06/2017 17:30

Sorry, I have a visceral hatred of the man.

But he was responsible for austerity and where it has brought us.

He wasn't offered the job of ES editor, he applied for it. He had no journalism experience whatsoever yet got the job over experienced hacks. I expect he just writes the editorials (venomous attacks on the current government) and signs off the front page.

CatWranglersAnonymous · 29/06/2017 17:34

Tulips what do you mean, he wasn't offered the job? I thought he was.

OP posts:
TulipsInAJug · 29/06/2017 17:38

I mean he wasn't head-hunted. He saw the job was advertised and applied for it.

His contacts probably got him it. Though he can't have that many political friends I'd have thought.
