To be mildly hurt that I've either been mistaken for another poster or do be considered such a tool I don't even have to post on a thread to piss people off

I was looking for an older thread so did a vanity search with a couple of key words and found my name mentioned on a thread I hadn't even posted on!Shock

Being large of ego I had a nosey. And they were saying I was overly dramatic (which is true but not the point) and a bit off and told to get help.

I never even posted on the bloody thread. I can't find anyone with a similar name to me on there Confused

My character has been impuned, maligned etc etc

I'm actually upsetting people even when I'm not on bloody Mumsnet. Do I piss you all of that much?

And drink the wine. Drinking good wine is an occasion in itself.

And you say 'incompetent and batshit' like they are bad things?

Saucery · 30/06/2017 19:40

I forget, MaQ, the early 80s were a blur of video nasties, Constance Carroll lipstick and hanging round the cenotaph looking for excitement.

EmpressOfTheSpartacusOceans · 30/06/2017 19:40

Hello Tantrums!

Pag, dh left a woman who was filthy rich and had her own island.

Bloody hell, Honey, your DH dated Xenia???

HoneyDragon · 30/06/2017 19:41

I loved her. She was awesome. She was my favourite of all Dh's girlfriends.

What part of the thread do you need help with Ursula?

Confused is fine

It's if you understand you should worry

questionsandquestions · 30/06/2017 19:50

Just saying, I did a search on "honeydragon" and "bone" and quite a lot came up, from Alan, to boneless skinless thighs. I like you in all of them.

HoneyDragon · 30/06/2017 19:55

Why?! Grin

HoneyDragon · 30/06/2017 20:11

That's because you spend an unhealthy amount of time with me.

Fridge is now stocked with stuff for tomorrow. Typed 'frudge' at first & think actually it may be more fitting.

I got propositioned by a man who has his own private jet. But creepy as he was my parents' age.

And had a marriage proposal from an ex bf who paid a restaurant to close for the occasion. Wanted to pay off my student debts & take me on a trip around the world. That was also a bit creepy. I went & worked in a shite job in a factory to pay off the debts. How noble

Mind you.

EmpressOfTheSpartacusOceans · 30/06/2017 21:25

Alan? Skull?

ZebraOwl · 30/06/2017 21:58

I read frittata too many times & now it no longer looks like a word at all. It didn't take very long tbf, I have the Post-Brownies Tired. It's a special kind of Tired. Even though my Brownies are awesome & the bestest Brownies IN THE WORLD. And I've just realised I left the First Aid Kit & emergency medication box in the cupboard. Arse. Meant to bring those home. Must rescue them after Mass on Sunday.

I really CBA to eat. But as I've not actually eaten since Reasonably Substantial (about 550kcal) Breakfast (though have drunk 660ml of orange juice...) I probably ought to get on that one. It just involves effort. And moving. And coordination with which I am not currently blessed. Meh. Why can one not delegate eating? That should be a thing...

Am superexcited cos someone I dance with has got a contract with a company. But I had to run after class so didn't actually get to find out WHICH company. But she's been on short-term ones with various companies because arts funding is pants but now she has a proper one & it is splendid. (My class is a bit weird. Because of the teacher it gets lots of professional dancers & vocational students & teachers etc - and then Normal People plus me, The Token Cripple...)

Blargh. Food. And not falling over the cats who have BOTH positioned themselves as trip hazards, presumably as punishment because I was late home from Brownies...

On subject of dodgy propositions, I once woke up to a marriage proposal scrawled on the notebook outside my door in College. There was pages of it. And a sonnet. Same year a guy at a May Ball tried to chat me up in Latin Hmm

Soubriquet · 30/06/2017 22:01

I finally got round to watching murdered for being different.

I've got quite a few friends all involved in the Sophie Lancaster charity so I felt it was important for me to watch it. Totally heartbreaking.

Saucery · 30/06/2017 22:21

I can't watch it, Soubriquet. I support SLF and the work they do, which is just tireless and fantastic. I read the Alan Gibbons book, Hate, but that is as close as I can get to it in fictional representation (it's not very good, but I still cried) ♥️

Soubriquet · 30/06/2017 22:23

It was a hard watch

Worse than the Rhys Jones documentary that was shown. And I did cry. But I think it's important people know about it.

Only way to stop hate crime like this from happening is education and opening people's eyes

Saucery · 30/06/2017 22:32

Totally agree with that. It is very important it never fades from view, because the attitudes and circumstances that led to it still exist.
I don't have the words to describe Sylvia Lancaster. My God, that woman is amazing. She would deny it, but she is.

UrsulaPandress · 30/06/2017 22:42

Anyone fancy a promenade around the Ha Ha?

ThumbWitchesAbroad · 30/06/2017 23:07

I don't understand where the psychopathy that these yoof must suffer from, even temporarily, comes from. I don't understand the mentality that suggests kicking someone to death is anything to be proud of. It's utterly, utterly beyond me. :( Angry

The parents of some murder victims are... amazing.

Jimmy Mizen's parents, for example, are incredible. merrily outs self I trained Jimmy as an altar server & while one of his older brothers was in my class at school, his youngest was in the same class of my oldest Brownies at the time of his murder. We had church parade the day after he was murdered & a load of press crowded into Mass, then basically papped the family & anyone who went near them on exiting the church (I was literally blinded for over a minute by the flashbulbs when I went to hug B) - and then I spent the rest of the day with my Sixers & Seconders, who of course needed to talk about what had happened, not least because we had to walk them past the crime scene...

But Barry & Margaret forgave his totally bloody unrepentant oxygen thief of a killer & went on to found a charity & set up cafés staffed by young people who'd struggle to find employment elsewhere - including a training scheme specifically for people with autism. They're also responsible for a Safe Havens scheme in Lewisham. They do loads of work with schools in the Borough & extra work with the children in those schools identified as most at risk. And in the nicest & most respectful way, they're not young & one of their other children has additional needs - nobody would blame them for quietly retiring. But they keep pushing on. And are gentle & kind & generous at the same time.

Ursula are you one of my Brownies? Hmm Though TBF it was coloured sand being lobbed about the hall this evening with somewhat gayer abandon than was in any way desirable. (And how is it that, when one Brownie has managed, somehow, to empty a load of the stuff over one of the Sixers & said Sixer has sat, statue-like for several minutes, carefully not spilling any, that on receiving the instruction to brush it onto the mat they're sitting on, they instead sweep it off onto the floor?! Thank goodness for Helpful Guides being willing to sweep up between our Units' meetings, frankly...)
