and how much do you know about them?

do you know about the cash for ash scandal?

do you think the GFA will be affected?

am curious to know what Tory voters think of this, am wondering how happy they are about this deal that's been done today.

FFS Horse Of course the Abortion Act should apply in NI but it's a devolved matter and that isn't going to happen. What has been announced today is not ideal but it's one hell of an improvement on the women concerned having to go private as well as paying the fare and accommodation here.

The point is that there was a real fear that the DUP might insist on the abortion question being revisited at Westminster - and this announcement seems to knock that on the head.

Fuck that shit.

It wasn't a real fear for anyone with half a brain cell, that could never have happened.

What's it to you? Bit goady if you ask me. I don't care much for the DUP but I would rather the Torys and DUP coalition than a labour government in charge - now that, would be absolute mayhem.

You'd rather actual insane extremists in power than Jeremy Corbyn....that is some fucked up shit.

midnight "Bit goady if you ask me"

why is this goady? I just asked my mum because there's always a bit of a thing when you vote for one party and they do something unexpected to take power or make massive changes you didn't expect.

I thought it was just natural conversation. I'm not having a go at anyone for how they voted.

I voted conservatives. I have no opinion about the DUP because I don't know anything about them. But I do believe that the DUP are likely to be 'silent partners'. They are there to push through the votes of the Tories rather than push their agenda.

I voted conservatives due to 'gut instinct'. No party had more than my 50% support. I supported policies right across the political spectrum. But ultimately I had to go with a party that could hold their shit together. Labour couldn't seem to agree on things, had a battle of leadership, do not have their party fully behind their leader and had minsters and secretaries who didn't know their arse from their elbow (Abbott!) Also I didn't trust Corbyn. I still don't. He's been pushed as some sort of 'celebrity for the young' and public sector workers. I don't disagree with his policies AT ALL. But I was never and still am not convinced that what he proposed, could be delivered without plunging us into financial strife again. I was reminded that in past elections, Labour spend the money and Conservatives bail us out which then angers the voters because of cuts and austerity.

But, if Labour had won the election - outright or as a hung parliament - I would accept it. Just like I was/am a remainer but accept that the country voted to leave and accept this IS what is going to happen.

I have more than half a brain cell Horse and I noticed that one of the DUP Members spoke of a vote on reducing the pint at which abortion is permitted. That's now apparently not a risk.

I wish people would not vote based on their gut instinct. Look at the facts as objectively as possible without trying to justify anything and then decide, whichever way that leads you to vote.

Then you should have noticed that they can speak of it all they want, it was never in a million years an actual possibility.

Not particularly thrilled to be honest, but the alternatives seem much worse. I'm disgusted that Corbyn seems to think he could be a legitimate PM despite having way fewer seats.

I would have preferred a minority Tory government with the other parties behaving in a grown up non-partisan way by voting with their conscience on an issue by issue basis.

This is factually utterly incorrect - and has been debunked many times.

Really? According to this Metro article, Labour had 800,000 fewer votes.

I'm a conservative voter.

My opinion is that it's better than the alternative of Corbyn being PM, it's horrifying to me that he did as well as he did.

I'm disappointed that TM called a general election but then didn't adequately fight it. I support her being PM to deliver Brexit but she won't last long once we're out, and certainly won't be pm by the next GE.

As for the DUP, I don't think their agenda will be to change policy in rest of the UK just to get some extra cash for NI. Whilst I acknowledge this is unfair on other deprived areas of the UK, at least it is spent within our own country rather than bankrolling another eu country.

I don't agree with the DUP's stance on abortion but NI is a very different kettle of fish to the rest of the UK.

Thank you hackmum and I stand corrected. I don't know where I got two million from.

But it's still substantially fewer. And the Conservatives got more votes than any other party in GB and the DUP in NI and the outcome is in democratic terms the least worst.

No-one interested in Angela Merkel's views on gay equality? Disappointing, but probably not that surprising.

Frau Merkel agreed to a free vote; voted against it herself; the Bundestag voted Ja and it's going to happen. End of story.

Indeed. It seems many people are only really concerned about the views of politicians on gay equality when there is political capital to be made from them.
