WAITED 9 YEARS FOR MY DC TO SAID THEIR FIRST WORD... HE JUST SPOKE!

Just that really! 😭😭😭😭😭 I am a completely blubbering mess! 😭😭😭😭

Waited 9 years for my DC to say his first word and he just spoke and said " oh no!" 😭😭😭

AIBU to keep him off of school tomorrow to take him to his favourite restaurant and park to Celebrate?! The places he really likes are normally extremely busy and loud if we try and go at weekends / after school or in the holidays and it doesn't result in an enjoyable experience for him!

I also so incredibly proud and I just want to treat him for talking even though I don't even think he is aware he has said a word! ❤️😭😭😭

I'm so thrilled for you (and more than a little teary).

It's a pretty amazing feeling. It was strong emotions that brought out ds2's first clear words, so don't feel too deflated if he doesn't follow up with more, very soon.

Ds2 is 11, now and I sometimes wish he would shut the fuck up. He's definitely trying to make up for lost time. He spent several long minutes, this morning, repeatedly shouting and spelling Carphone Warehouse before moving on to chanting his version of the lyrics to a song.

And, exciting as it is, be cautious about keeping him off school. He might find the change of routine itself quite confusing.

We love Elmo, btw, and ours is a tenacious little chap.

Amazing, what a feeling- the lows that come with waiting so long make the high even higher.

That is so lovely! Many congratulations.

My ds is 22. When he was about 9, he was lying on the settee, not very well and declared 'Nicole' just like in the car advert. Grin

Gingerandgivingzerofucks · 26/06/2017 20:08
