WAITED 9 YEARS FOR MY DC TO SAID THEIR FIRST WORD... HE JUST SPOKE!

Just that really! 😭😭😭😭😭 I am a completely blubbering mess! 😭😭😭😭

Waited 9 years for my DC to say his first word and he just spoke and said " oh no!" 😭😭😭

AIBU to keep him off of school tomorrow to take him to his favourite restaurant and park to Celebrate?! The places he really likes are normally extremely busy and loud if we try and go at weekends / after school or in the holidays and it doesn't result in an enjoyable experience for him!

I also so incredibly proud and I just want to treat him for talking even though I don't even think he is aware he has said a word! ❤️😭😭😭

What wonderful news Smile

I have had a similar moment and thought back to the HCP who said to us years before (and I quote) "you must prepare yourself for the fact you'll never hear him say I love you". (Why the fuck anyone would say something like that to a parent anyway Hmm)

Well, he eventually said it, he now says "I love you" to me every night and it's still like the first time he said it - every night. I hope it's the same for you.

Best feeling in the world Star to your DS and Flowersfor you!!

Seenoevil · 26/06/2017 17:19

bitingcat · 26/06/2017 17:41

That is fantastic news, you must be so proud. I'm so happy for you all.

I am normally very disapproving of parents giving their children time off during term time but this is huge! Go and celebrate, have a lovely day together.

Babymamaroon · 26/06/2017 17:43

How absolutely thrilling for you! Just wonderful ⭐️⭐️⭐️

WellThisIsShit · 26/06/2017 17:44

YAY!!!! I'm so happy for you!!!!

I just put my hand to my face and have surprised self to find I'm smiling on the outside too! Your darling wonderful son just gave me dimples Grin

I'm so happy for you. It's SUCH a big moment, even if Elmo is more gripping for DS than a wild eyed mummy sitting staring at him intently! GrinWink

I'm strangely addicted to Elmo in grouchland, which is lucky as we've watched it daily for a week! The eyebrow mans hammy acting is starting to wear thin, but Elmo is just as adorable as the first time!

mineallmine · 26/06/2017 17:48

This is wonderful, a moment in time for your family. You absolutely should celebrate

ohtheholidays · 26/06/2017 17:48

I read your first post and told my DH and all of our 5DC about your lovely little boy and your amazing news and were all over joyed for you both.

3 of our 5DC are autistic and we know how they have all struggled to do lots of things they're friends can find quite easy, every thing no matter how small it may seem to other people is huge to our family.

100% I'd say keep him off school and I hope you both have an amazing day together. Smile

mylaptopismylapdog · 26/06/2017 17:49
