To think it's not normal for an 18 year old to play video games on their day off? Mine doesn't move!

My 32 year old and his mates obviously need to be told they're not normal...

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 25/06/2017 13:48

Normal

NerrSnerr · 25/06/2017 13:48

Very normal. My husband would be playing games if we didn't have 2 children to be occupied?

MrsKCastle · 25/06/2017 13:49

Very normal. If I had a day off with no kids and no housework, I'd love to spend it in front of the x-box. I'm 39.

Namechange2837 · 25/06/2017 13:49

My DH would love a day of gaming - he's 31

gwenneh · 25/06/2017 13:50

I adore my gaming days -- I occasionally sneak one in. And I'm a lot older than 18!

TheSkyisBlueToday · 25/06/2017 13:50

Gaming is a hobby just like other things such as golf, footy, painting etc. Just because it isn't your cup of tea, doesn't make it weird or wrong.

UsedToBeAPaxmanFan · 25/06/2017 13:50

I have a 19 year old and an almost 21 year old. Ds2 doesn't do gaming. Ds2 on the other hand spends all his days off either sleeping or gaming. As do most of his friends.

Dh and I have never played a video game so don't understand the appeal. Ds2 has occasionally played but would much rather be outside or playing real sport

PaperdollCartoon · 25/06/2017 13:51

My DP is a decade older and does the same thing. My DSis aged 21 would happily do this as well if she didn't have 2 kids to look after. Perfectly normal. Why would doing something you enjoy need to suddenly stop at 16? Confused

InfiniteCurve · 25/06/2017 13:51

Well before DD was born ( when I was 34)I'd have played computer games on my day off.Actually when DD was about 2 I went to spend a day with my friend ( she lived a couple of hours away) leaving DD with DH - another friend asked what were we going to do,shopping perhaps? To which I respond ( in my head!) " why would anyone do that??" while saying out loud that " no,we would probably play computer games and talk about books..," which we did!

Orlantina · 25/06/2017 13:52

What should someone be doing on their day off (if they haven't got children)?

Toysaurus · 25/06/2017 13:52

At the age of 38, I have discovered Roblox. So much fun.

becotide · 25/06/2017 13:53

YABU, it's completely normal unless you are talking about an 18 year old cat.

ImCatbug · 25/06/2017 13:55

I'm 24 and spend my days off playing on my consoles. Often playing online with my friends.
In the evenings me and DH will sit and play games on different consoles to chill out. It's totally normal, most games are actually aimed at adults and not children so adults gaming is very common.

VestalVirgin · 25/06/2017 13:55

You could question whether it is healthy to spend all free time gaming, but it is certainly normal.

Quimby · 25/06/2017 13:56

My wife's got to head in to work later and I'm fucking giddy at the prospect 3-4 hours of Witcher3 or GTAV

Quimby · 25/06/2017 13:56

32 btw

BlahBlahBlahEtc · 25/06/2017 13:57

I'm 31. I too would rather be on my console then see people Wink

LilQueenie · 25/06/2017 13:58

sounds great. I've always done it and know plenty adults who still do.

BlahBlahBlahEtc · 25/06/2017 13:58

*Than see people Hmm

notomatoes · 25/06/2017 13:59

Stop at 16? I'm in my 30s...

Ginkypig · 25/06/2017 13:59

I'm 32 and have just spent an hour on the xbox.

Why is it any different than the other things I do for pleasure like reading, swimming, cinema, coffee wine or a meal out with friends or watching a to prog/film? Or even having a browse on mn?

araiwa · 25/06/2017 13:59

Ive spent most of today gaming

Helendee · 25/06/2017 13:59

Husband is 53 and would love to do this lol.

muckypup73 · 25/06/2017 14:01
