When I hear "beans", I think runner beans, baked beans etc. I think using someone's name is a good idea, it helps to build up customer loyalty if they feel they are supporting a real person.

I agree about pun names. I never think they are places to be taken seriously.
What about using the street name eg Main Street Coffee.

Artisan coffee and cake
Number 41 - bakery and coffee house

Or something simple like
Cup
Mug
Bean
Crumb
Stir

I like the suggestions of using the address as the name.

We have the 'same font as Costa' thing here too. It's called Resta. Which means nothing as far as I can tell. From a distance it looks like a Costa at first glance.

I know a coffee shop in a garden centre that's called Hosta Coffee, which I think is very clever.

No suggestion for the OP but I hate Grabit and talk of grabbing coffee and food - sorry to the person who suggested that.
