Blazers on in this a weather. Really?

Top buttons too.

DSis school is saying it's to enhance work ethic and get you use to the work place by following rules like these.

Cannot think of many work places who would purposely make you uncomfortable like this Hmm

DS is still in utero. I'm praying they change these stupid rules nationally very soon, and make it bad practise to force children to swelter like this.

It was dd's prize day today. For some reason the school theatre was arctic cold! But I took her out for lunch afterwards & i was sweltering in a thin dress whilst she refused to take her blazer & tie off (mum it's not that hot). No accounting for kids!

Do schools get a cut of the profits made from uniform sales...? If so, that might be the real reason for ridiculous uniform rules.

Gileswithachainsaw · 22/06/2017 09:47

Yes cats

Many schools have uniform that is only available through the school.

Given others allow part of the uniforms (shirts trousers skirt) to be purchased elsewhere, or sign up to embroidery service at Tesco the only explanations for making it that you couldn't buy the blazer from a supermarket and sew on a patch, or having the stuff only available at an inflated price through the school is that either they are trying to price people out of applying and/or they get a cut of the profits.

I mean it certainly can't be about how it looks because no one looks good in old faded second hand uniform or over sized uniform because parents can't afford to buy new so use hand me downs or they buy as big as possible so they don't have to replace so often due to cost

There's been a boys in skirts protest in Exeter. They look very nice. Smile

I saw a boy from dd's school at a bus stop with no top on and his school shirt slung over his shoulder yesterday. He looked very proud of his physique. Grin

Good for them. It's just bull shit isn't it. Carrying around ties. Y?

Consulting families about adding shorts? Y? Jusvput them.on the list and those who don't want to wear them wont.

It's rules for the sake of rules. Why carry a tie around all day when you don't have to wear it

dottybooboo22 · 25/06/2017 18:03

in my DD's school you can choose to wear either a black polo shirt or a white cotton blouse/shirt

blazers were brought in as part of the uniform last september but it's optional and i've not seen anyone wearing them.

girls can wear skirts or trousers.

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 25/06/2017 18:49

Quadrangle, how brilliant Grin.

Totally agree. It's a stupid rule - and then they wonder why the classroom smells of teenager angst!
