to get slightly annoyed on MN at times by the general "perfectness" that is being displayed

Reading through threads I get a bit fed up sometimes because it seems that everybody on MN seems to have the oh so perfect life - a rich and varied social life, a fantastic relationship with dh/dp with meaningful conversations over a bottle of wine several nights a week, plenty of stimulating activities with the children, fresh, organic, healthy food of course, reading high-quality books...

and so on and so on...

am I just in a bad mood today?

This is funny - although some people may get a bit upset by the thread.

I love to dreamm about the next big, beautiful house, perfectly ironed laundry, maid asking me what I want for dinner from the organic garden. Perfect children: tidy, pleasant, not ill, sleep at normal hours; Work being a flourish of Prada / Glam and me looking like I've walked out of a glossy magazine and yet the most perfect Mum on the planet whom every woman is supposed to envy; A DH who is every inch the adonis and perfect father..... then come down to earth with a bump.

Reading about perfection at least gives me my sense in life: to be happy with who I am and the lovely family that I have - which I truely do. And by the way, DH is to me Adonis -just in case he reads this

Oh WB's bosom and Ulrika as a sex adict, what a great night

MadamePlatypus · 20/03/2007 21:01

Thats one of the downsides of MN compared to RL. It can be so reassuring to phone up an RL friend and hear their children screaming in the background or pop round for a coffee and see the bags under their eyes and glimpse the piles of washing stuffed in the bedroom.

Rhubarb · 20/03/2007 21:01

Pity you can no longer talk though TeeCee huh?

bossykate · 20/03/2007 21:02

just wanted to say that.

TeeCee · 20/03/2007 21:07

us at ubar, dee ou ay umfin?

malaleche · 20/03/2007 21:14

im sure if we wait around long enough someone will come along with a technical/evolutionary reason for why humans feel the need to one-up-manship each other all the time...

I could have a life like the one op described if i didnt waste my evenings on MN instead of drinking wine and having fantastic sex with DP, all i get is a sore back and red eyes from being hunched over the laptop night after night in search of a replacement for my non existent social life... sad bastard...

VeniVidiVickiQV · 20/03/2007 21:29

So, is this inverted smuggery, anyway? Can anyone answer?
