It's not going to get any better for her, is it? She needs to just give up and leave.

OP posts:
claraelsa · 17/06/2017 16:59

She will be forced out before long.

EnthusiasmIsDisturbed · 17/06/2017 17:09

I am sure there will be a leadership challenge soon

But right now no she shouldn't leave face up to the difficulties she has had to deal with the most incredibly difficult month but her dealing with the people skills are really lacking

Who would really want to replace her now who ever is leading the party and is PM (and the Tories are not going to give it up) is going to get a very hard very hard time

SantasLittleMonkeyButler · 17/06/2017 17:11

I'm not a Tory supporter & I'm no fan of TM.

However, I'm unconvinced that what we need now is more disruption. I'm certain she won't serve the full 5 years, but for now surely somebody just needs to get on with things?!

EnthusiasmIsDisturbed · 17/06/2017 17:18

Absolutely Santas

It has been the most terrible month a PM giving up now is not what the country needs

TwoLeftSocks · 17/06/2017 17:22

I actually have a bit of respect for her sticking with it, I think she knows what a terrible idea it was for her party to call the election but she is at least facing the music, and I think she's better at other parts of the job than the people side of it all. Plus I can't bear the thought of any of the other senior tories taking the lead.

ConferencePear · 17/06/2017 17:22

I didn't vote for her either but I want her to just get on with the job. I do not want politicians crying and hugging the populace I want them to organise some help for those people now and to make sure that the investigation gets under way quickly with all the facilities they need.

TwoLeftSocks · 17/06/2017 17:23

Can I clarify that I don't like most of her party's policies but think she's best of a bad bunch.

JamieXeed74 · 17/06/2017 21:56

Election was a bad idea, who knew. But she is brave to stick around and face the music.

NannyOggsKnickers · 17/06/2017 22:00

I don't get this narrative that she is 'brave'. She's a serial failure. Look at her history of failures at the Home Office and then the fact that she won the Tory leadership contest by default because Leadsome pulled out. She's actually only ever won her own seat and that could be won by a donkey with a blue rosette.
Do we want this person representing us on the world stage? Wouldn't it be better to have a fresh start, rather than someone without the backing of their country or party negotiating the vital Brexit talks?

InfiniteSheldon · 17/06/2017 22:01

I think the same, this witch hunt is very unpleasant to witness she's only been PM for a year, the new Labour MP for Kensington was on the planning committee and actually signed off on the works on that Tower where is she now? TM is the best of a bad bunch and like it or not more of the country want her as PM than any of the others. Let her get on with it this hard left grandstanding is vile

Ginormoustrawberry · 17/06/2017 22:02

Is it a quiet night on the telly 🙄

InfiniteSheldon · 17/06/2017 22:02

Same as Jaimie!

Ankleswingers · 17/06/2017 22:03

TM is damned if she does and damned if she doesn't.

She really can't win.

It is a complete witch hunt.

frogsgoladidahdidah · 17/06/2017 22:04

I think she needs to leave.

Now.

(Unless Boris is the replacement. That would be worse!)

Flisspaps · 17/06/2017 22:05

YANBU. She needs to fuck off, Queens Speech needs to be voted down.

New election, labour majority.

Crunchymum · 17/06/2017 22:07

At least she didn't do what Cameron did, call a fucking election / referendum and then piss off when the results didn't go the expected way.

No TM fan here but her resigning or being displaced wouldn't be ideal, especially as this means we would most likely end up with Boris fucking Johnson as PM Shock Shock

NannyOggsKnickers · 17/06/2017 22:08

Ankle To be fair, this is her mess. The best thing to do would be to stand aside graciously, instead of trying to plough on without a mandate.

Why is she so different to Gordon Brown, who was accused of squatting in Downing Street. SSDD

MajesticWhine · 17/06/2017 22:10

Who would be better? If she stands down, it is likely to be Boris. I'd rather have Theresa (not a Tory voter)

Bluntness100 · 17/06/2017 22:12

No, she was fairly and democratically elected and we don't need more disruption. Corybn had 172 of his labour MPs vote no confidence in him and he stayed. He's never even had the country elect him in a GE. He lost.

May was elected fair and square. She should absolutely stay.

IfYouGoDownToTheWoodsToday · 17/06/2017 22:15

"it's a complete witch hunt"

It really is not! She has shown herself to be completely incompetent. She appears to not have a clue what's she's doing.
With Brexit coming up (which I voted against but accept it is going to happen) we need a strong, confident leader. Not a dithering, idiot.

NannyOggsKnickers · 17/06/2017 22:17

Blunt I'm not arguing for Corbyn. He didn't win either. The point is late no one won. However, out of the 'losers' (or non-winners) she lost the most. She doesn't have a clear mandate anymore. Not from the electorate or her own party.

Has it escaped everyone's notice that we don't have a functioning government at the moment?

eynesbury · 17/06/2017 22:17

Corbyn would be a car crash if he had got as far as getting the job! Ugh? Can you imagine..

Guepe · 17/06/2017 22:19

I loathe her and think she should ultimately go as she is simply a disaster, but she's absolutely right to stay on until there a leadership contest (which I hope would be won by Davis, rather than Boris).

VladmirsPoutine · 17/06/2017 22:20

Who would you suggest replace her OP? I'm no fan of TM but I honestly can't think of a single Tory MP that would or could handle this shit show any better.

Pariswhenitdrizzles · 17/06/2017 22:26

Infinite the current Kensington Labour MP has actually been very vocal in her support of the Grenfell Tower residents since the disaster.

Although I appreciate that perhaps she could have done more to prevent the fire - I didn't realise that she was actually part of the group that made decisions regarding the Grenfell Tower's upkeep and maintenance.
