It's not going to get any better for her, is it? She needs to just give up and leave.

At least she didn't do what Cameron did, call a fucking election / referendum and then piss off when the results didn't go the expected way.

I suspect he jumped before he was pushed. If TM does neither it's only because Brexit is likely to lead to, at the very least, short term pain with the PM job probably being particularly difficult and those interested in replacing her would prefer to wait.

I do not want politicians crying and hugging the populace I want them to organise some help for those people now and to make sure that the investigation gets under way quickly with all the facilities they need.

Showing some genuine looking concern rather than repeating prepared statements would be nice though. I'm not a Conservative voter but I'm sure she is as shocked and horrified as the rest of us but she seems incapable of showing this. She's clearly not good with people and that is a bit of a problem for someone in her position - she also needs some better advisors, if she can't work these things out for herself she needs someone who can do it for her.

TheHiphopopotamus · 17/06/2017 22:30

The point is late no one won. However, out of the 'losers' (or non-winners) she lost the most. She doesn't have a clear mandate anymore. Not from the electorate or her own party.

What on earth are you on about? How did TM 'lose the most'? I think you've fallen for the Labour spin.

sodablackcurrant · 17/06/2017 22:30

@VladmirsPoutine

Agree.

I do not have much time for the woman, but she is the PM and in fairness has had a bellyfull of tragedies to deal with so far. I omit the GE that was self inflicted.

I also cannot think of anyone to replace her. But maybe no one wants to either at the present time. They would just get the same or more flak.

IfYouGoDownToTheWoodsToday · 17/06/2017 22:39

"most of the country want her as PM"

That is not true.

42% voted conservative
58% voted for other parties.

The majority do not want her as PM.

ClopySow · 17/06/2017 22:44

I'm absolutely not a fan, but i think she's been thrown under a bus by the rest of the party. It's pretty disgusting to watch.

Guepe · 17/06/2017 22:44

There was no need for an election, she could have carried in with a comfortable majority, but has ended up with a hung parliament. Yes the Torries still have the most seats, but they've had hugely significant losses whilst Labour have made substantial gains. She gambled and lost badly. That's why she's clearly the biggest loser.

Smellbellina · 17/06/2017 22:45

I think it was the plan all along.

applecatchers36 · 17/06/2017 22:46

At present we do not have a government ( what I'd happening with the DUP?) she is the current ' place saver' they hope until a new Tory leader is annointed (!)..what they fail to to realise is that the majority of the country did not vote for the conservatives, at present she is toxifying an already toxic brand... There is a disconnect between how people feel about recent events and the lack of any edifying leadership.

Said no one sensible or well informed ever

RubyGoat · 17/06/2017 22:47

I don't like her, I personally think she's arrogant, supercilious, cold, & absolutely epitomises everything that so many people are critical of in the Tory party. But, I wouldn't want to be PM at the moment for anything. I don't for a second think she's up to the job but, unfortunately (IMHO), the Tories got the most votes & are currently in power. If they have someone who would be more able & willing to take they lead, they're being awfully quiet about it... Plus a public witch-hunt is always extremely ugly & says as much about the hunters as those they target.

Bluntness100 · 17/06/2017 22:48

Nanny she did win, she won the highest proportion of votes and she won approx sixty more seats than the nearest other party, hence why she is prime minister.and the tories are in power. No way round it. She might not have a majority, but she's certainly won the GE. It was not a draw.

IfYouGoDownToTheWoodsToday · 17/06/2017 22:50

She hasn't been "thrown under a bus".
She's brought it all on herself! She called an election then couldn't be bothered to actually debate with the public. She plainly thought she didn't need to as she had the arrogance to think she would get a huge majority.
She then didn't appologise to the country for the fuck up of a hung parliament.
Her actions this week have continuitied to show how unsuited she is to being PM.

DeadGood · 17/06/2017 22:52

laughing out loud at "donkey in a blue rosette" nanny Grin

abilockhart · 17/06/2017 22:54

I think she knows what a terrible idea it was for her party to call the election

Theresa May called the surprise election. Only her closest advisors knew beforehand.

The surprise certainly backfired.

ALeapOfFaith · 17/06/2017 23:04

YABU. She was democratically elected last week. Why on earth should she resign? Democratic decisions don't get overthrown because you don't like the outcome or that the person doesn't show empathy in a way that pleases you.

HateSummer · 17/06/2017 23:10

I agree. Someone who constantly says that "no deal is a good deal" doesn't fill me with much hope about brexit. We need someone who will talk and MAKE A GOOD deal no matter what. She can't talk. She dithers and splutters, and when she can't push for a good deal she'll walk away with NOTHING to show.

She's made a bad decision after bad decision since becoming pm.

Unicorn81 · 17/06/2017 23:14

i dont think we should forget about her contribution before she was PM, doesnt fill me with confidence

2rebecca · 17/06/2017 23:15

Which Tory in the UK parliament will be better? We don't need another leadership challenge and election at the moment. She is the Tories' leader, it's up to them when they replace her. I don't believe the replacement if done rapidly will be an improvement so don't see the rush to get rid of her.
I've had enough musical chairs, time to get on with it.

notknownatthisaddress · 17/06/2017 23:16

I think all the thread banging on about her must go!

I agree not. Isn't there a Politics topic somewhere?

Ginormoustrawberry · 17/06/2017 23:19

not nail on head!

user1471545174 · 17/06/2017 23:22

She has to start Brexit on Monday. I don't think anyone else in the party is gagging for the job right now.

I am horrified already by what the Momentum Labour surge has unleashed on us.

DearMrDilkington · 17/06/2017 23:26

I'm unsure how TM got this far tbh..

user1471545174 · 17/06/2017 23:29

Because Cameron left and the Brexiteers didn't actually want to do Brexit after all, so she was the least worst option.
