To ask if you charge your phone overnight?

The fire at grenfell is heartbreaking and it's made me revise fire prevention rules.

One of those is to not charge your phone overnight, something that I do every night.

AIBU to ask how many of you also do this? And also those who don't, how do you find the time to give it a full charge if you spend most of the day out of the house.

Well, I dunno. My wife has just gone to bed, and I'm counting up... we have two fridges and a freezer working over night, plus the central air conditioning, a couple of TVs on standby. I don't think an ipad is going to increase the hazard significantly. I frequently leave my desktop computer on standby overnight.

In winter, of course we would have the heat on overnight, and a couple of gas fires on the pilot.

I pretty much rely on the safety systems to cut power and/or give warning. We have four smoke alarms and three carbon monoxide detectors, plus a natural gas detector near the furnace.

My MacBook Air charger is about 18 Months old and no issues at all. It doesn't get warm when in use and no discolouring or anything.

I charge mine at night but I have 8 smoke detectors which are inter linked in our house. My DH thought I was nuts when I got them installed, as did the electrician, but we keep our bedroom doors closed at night so I wanted to make sure that an alarm would go off if there was a fire in any room. I have a teenage daughter who more than likely charges her phone at night so wasn't taking any chances.
